Compassionate, Merciful & Patient

The LORD is compassionate, merciful, patient, and always ready to forgive. As high as the heavens are above the earth— that is how vast his mercy is toward those who fear him. Psalm 103:8, 11 (GW) God is full of mercy and grace. He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 4:9). He is always ready to forgive. He removes our sins from us, as far as the east is from the west. The LORD is rich in love and not easily angered. In His deep compassion, He delivers us time after time. His compassions never fail, they are new every morning. Praise the LORD!

Confidence in War

Even though an army sets up camp against me, my heart will not be afraid. Even though a war breaks out against me, I will still have confidence in the Lord. Psalm 27:3 (GW) As believers, we have an enemy and we are actively engaged in a spiritual war. The devil has declared war against those who keep God’s commands and hold fast to their testimony about Jesus, (Revelation 12:17). The devil's purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. However, no weapon formed against us shall prosper, (Isaiah 54:17). The One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world, (1 John 4:4). So maintain your confidence in the LORD, for everyone born of God overcomes the world, (1 John 5:4). The battle belongs to God and He has given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen! On this Memorial Day, we honor all those who have served and are presently serving in the U.S. military. Thank you for your service.

Got Peace?

With perfect peace you will protect those whose minds cannot be changed, because they trust you. Trust the Lord always, because the Lord, the Lord alone, is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4 (God's Word) The LORD keeps everyone who trusts Him, in perfect peace. Instead of letting circumstances and those temporary things that can be seen change your mind, keep your thoughts are fixed on Him. As you trust in the LORD, His perfect peace will reign in your heart, mind, spirit and soul. He is the everlasting Rock. You can depend on Him. Amen.

Find Strength in the LORD

David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 (NIV) When David and his troops returned home from battle, they found their city burned and their wives, sons and daughters taken captive. David and his men wept until they could weep no more. In spite of the men talking about stoning him, David found strength in the LORD his God. David and troops pursued their enemies and recovered all. When we encounter difficult days and trying times, let us be like David and find strength in the LORD, our God. Ignore any negative and critical conversation and continue on the path God has for you.

Never Forget the Good

Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! Psalm 103:1-5 (NLT) Never forget all the good things the Lord has done and is doing in your life. He is our Savior, our Healer and our Redeemer. The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. They begin afresh each morning (Lamentations 3:22-23, NLT). He fills our lives with many blessings and renews our youth. Praise the Lord with your whole heart!

Hear My Prayer

Hear my prayer, LORD God Almighty; listen to me, God of Jacob. Psalm 84:8 (NIV) Let us continue to pray for those who have experienced loss in the recent tornados. May God comfort those who are grieving the loss of loved ones. I pray for provision for those whose homes were destroyed. May You, O LORD, give them strength and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. Please lead the rescue teams to the survivors still waiting to be found. May healing and restoration come to every area of their lives. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Light and Joy

Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name. Psalm 97:10-12 (NIV) The LORD guards our lives and delivers us from the hand of the enemy. May the light of the LORD brightly shine upon you. Let His joy fill your heart and spill over into the lives of those around you. Rejoice in the LORD and praise His holy name. He is WORTHY!

He is There for You

Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God hadn't been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, "I'm slipping, I'm falling," your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up. Psalm 94:16-19 (The Message) Always remember, God is there for you. God said, "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you," (Isaiah 43:2, NLT). The love of God holds you close. He will soothe your soul and fill you with His joy and peace.

Power to Keep Calm

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You discipline and instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law, That You may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity, until the [inevitable] pit of corruption is dug for the wicked. Psalm 94:12-13 (Amp) How blessed and full of joy are those who receive instruction and discipline from the Word of the LORD. The Amplified version says, that person is to be envied. Not only do we gain wisdom and understanding when we allow the Word of God to teach us. God also gives us the power to keep calm in the days of adversity.

What's in Your Heart?

God does not see as humans see. Humans look at outward appearances, but the Lord looks into the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 (GW) People judge by outward appearance, but God looks into our hearts. First Chronicles 28:9 says, the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. Does our heavenly Father and His loving nature dwell in your heart? Do you love your enemies and forgive those who wrong you? Let us be men and women after God's own heart.

No One Knows

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matthew 24:36 (NIV) When Jesus was talking to His disciples about the signs of the end of the age in Matthew 24, He said, "keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come," (Matthew 24:42). When you don't know what to believe, stand on the Word of God. In Matthew 24:35, Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

Flourish in His Courts!

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing, To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Psalm 92:12-15 (NKJ) Plant yourself in the house of the LORD and you will stay fresh and flourish in the courts of our God. On the outside, our bodies are aging, but on the inside, our spirits are being renewed day by day. Let us proclaim that the LORD is just and faithful. He is our Rock!

"You Thrill me, Lord!"

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by the ten-stringed harp and the melody of the lyre. You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. O Lord, what great works you do! And how deep are your thoughts. Psalm 92:1-5 (NLT) Give thanks to the LORD and sing praises to the Most High God. Tell our heavenly Father how much you appreciate His unfailing love in the morning. Thank Him for His everlasting faithfulness every night. Be thrilled with all the LORD has done for you! His works are so magnificent. His thoughts, so profound. Sing for joy at the works of His hand!

Love the LORD

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (NIV) The LORD rescues those who love Him. He protects those who acknowledge that His name is above all other names. God is with us in trouble and He delivers us. Love the LORD, our God with all your heart, mind and soul and He will honor you and give you a long satisfying life. Call on the LORD and He will answer.

The Kindness of the LORD

Let the kindness of the Lord our God be with us. Make us successful in everything we do. Yes, make us successful in everything we do. Psalm 90:17 (GW) In kindness, the LORD gave us life and keeps watch over us. He crowns us with love and compassion (Psalm 103:4). In kindness, God surrounds us with His favor. May the everlasting kindness of Almighty God draw you into a deeper more intimate relationship with Him.

Cast All Your Cares

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7 (Amp) Cast all of your cares and concerns on the LORD, once and for all. Leave them in His hands and do not pick them up again. God cares for you so much, He does not want you filled with anxiety and weighed down with burdens. Jesus came to set us free. God watches over you and He is all-knowing. He has the wisdom and power to get you through any situation. Instead of focusing on problems, keep your eyes on the LORD, your helper. Think about His goodness and His faithfulness.

Who Can Compare?

I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. Psalm 89:1-2 (NLT) Sing about the LORD's unfailing love. For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? (Psalm 89:6) There is no one who compares to the LORD. He is an awesome God! He is a mighty God! He is forever faithful and the love He has for us never fails. The LORD is always there, to comfort, to guide, to protect and to provide. Enjoy His presence today, tomorrow and forever!

Shape Your Worries into Prayers

Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians 4:6-7 (The Message) Be anxious for nothing. Give all your worries to God in the form of prayers. When Christ is at the center of your life, you will experience God's peace, which surpasses all understanding. Then you can take comfort in knowing that God will work everything together for good.

Day & Night

LORD, you are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out to you. May my prayer come before you; turn your ear to my cry. Psalm 88:1-2 (NIV) Cry out to the LORD your God, during the day and at night. The prayers of God’s people rise before Him like sweet-smelling incense. He hears your prayers and He will save you from distress. He will rescue you from all your troubles. Call on the LORD, who is mighty to save!

Strength to Go On

But you, O God, are both tender and kind, not easily angered, immense in love, and you never, never quit. So look me in the eye and show kindness, give your servant the strength to go on, save your dear, dear child! Psalm 86:15-16 (The Message) Our awesome God is gentle, caring and kind. In His immense love, He faithfully gives us the strength we need each day. He gives us the strength to persevere through the trials and overcome any obstacles. When you are weary, He strengthens your physical body, as well as your spirit and soul. With the strength God gives, we can live a victorious life!

Great is His Love

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. Psalm 86:12-13 (NIV) Great is God's love toward us. Nothing can ever separate us from His unfailing love. He has delivered us from the depths of hell. He is our helper and our comforter. Praise the LORD with all your heart and give glory to His name forever.

Abundant in Mercy

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications. Psalm 86:5-6 (NKJ) God is so good. He is always ready to forgive our transgressions. When we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive them and separates them from us, as far as the east is from the west. God is abundant in mercy and lovingkindness to everyone who calls upon Him. His ear is open to your prayers and He hears your urgent cry. Approach God's throne today and receive His marvelous mercy.

The Promise of Perfect Peace

I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly. Psalm 85:8 (NIV) Listen to what the LORD says. He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in Him (Isaiah 26:3). Instead of engaging in thoughtless or reckless behavior, His faithful saints, abide in the LORD, in a place of perfect peace and serenity.

Grace & Glory

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. Psalm 84:11 (NLT) The LORD gives us grace and glory. What more do we need? With God's grace we have unmerited favor and forgiveness. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God says, "My grace is sufficient for you." He shows us the incomparable riches of His grace. The LORD has crowned us with glory and honor (Hebrews 2:7). In Psalm 3:3, He is a shield around us, our glory, and the One who lifts our heads up high. Thank God for His grace and glory!

God Loves Me!

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 (NKJ) God's love is like living water that floods my soul. At times, God's love flows like a calm stream and fills every crevice of my heart with His peace. At other times, God's love rushes in with power and strength and breaks up the fallow ground. In the light, God's love is transparent, clear for all to see. God's love is ever-flowing and true. Give God some praise because He loves you too!

Yearn for the Living God

How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:1-2 (NIV) To yearn is a strong desire for someone, it involves feelings of affection and tenderness. You want to be in the presence of that person more than anything else. May our souls yearn for the living God. Enter His courts with praise. Dwell in His Presence. Be captivated by His love and beauty. Let us adore our Creator and Father. Blessed are those who dwell in His house; they are ever praising Him (Psalm 84:4).

The Strength of Your Heart

Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Psalm 73:25-26 (NLT) Let your desire be for Almighty God alone. He is the strength of your heart. Draw near to Him. God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength (1 Corinthians 1:25). Build your life with Him as the firm foundation. Look to the LORD and His strength.

Restore My Life Again

Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more. Psalm 71:20-21 (NIV) Though we suffer hardships and face many troubles, the LORD restores us to life again. When our world beneath us crumbles, He lifts us up and sets us on solid ground. In all our distress, God is the One who comforts us. Lean on the LORD!

Always Have Hope

But I will always have hope. I will praise you more and more. Psalm 71:14 (GW) ALWAYS have hope. Put your hope in God, our Savior, all day long. With the LORD, there is unfailing love and full redemption. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls (Hebrews 6:19, NLT). It will not be cut off. The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seek him (Lamentations 3:25). Praise the LORD!

God is Great!

Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad because of you. Let those who love your salvation continually say, “God is great!” Psalm 70:4 (GW) Rejoice and be glad because of who the LORD is and all He has done. He is gracious and merciful. He constantly showers us with His love and compassion. Praise the LORD! If you love your salvation, shout, "God is great!"

Strength and Power!

God, the God of Israel, is awe-inspiring in his holy place. He gives strength and power to his people. Thanks be to God! Psalm 68:35 (GW) The beauty and majesty of our great God causes us to stand in awe. Oh, what a joy to live in the splendor of His love and light! He is worthy of all praise and adoration. God gives us strength and power to worship and serve Him with all of our hearts, minds and souls. In His power, we can overcome obstacles, move mountains and triumph through the trials. With the strength God gives, we can pursue the dreams he has given us with passion and perseverance. Thank God for giving you the strength and power to overcome and live a victorious life!
