Set Your Hope

Image
Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the sentence of death [and were convinced that we would die, but this happened] so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead. He rescued us from so great a threat of death, and will continue to rescue us. On Him we have set our hope. And He will again rescue us [from danger and draw us near], — 2 Corinthians 1:9-10 (AMP) In the midst of severe trials, let us trust solely in our mighty God. “…blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.” (Jeremiah 17:7 NLT) So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD! (Psalm 31:24 NLT) He delivers the righteous out of all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17 NASB)

Come Back

Image
But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul. When troubles come and all these awful things happen to you, in future days you will come back to God, your God, and listen obediently to what he says. God, your God, is above all a compassionate God. In the end he will not abandon you, he won’t bring you to ruin, he won’t forget the covenant with your ancestors which he swore to them. — Deuteronomy 4:29-31 (MSG) Come back to God and listen to what He says. Wholeheartedly seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. Strive after His heart and character, more than His hand and He will give you everything you need.

Boast in the Name

Image
Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stood upright. — Psalm 20:7-8 (NASB) Boast in the name of Jesus. His name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 says, even the government will rest on His shoulders. The battle is the Lord’s and He has already gained the victory. Amen! At the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11)

He is Near

Image
for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ — Acts 17:28 (NASB) I have heard it said many times, “When God is all you have, you realize God is all you need.” God gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need. (Acts 17:25 NLT) He determined our appointed times and the boundaries of our habitation, (Acts 17:26). His purpose in all this was that people of every culture and religion would search for this ultimate God, grope for Him in the darkness, as it were, hoping to find Him. Yet, in truth, God is not far from any of us. (Acts 17:27 VOICE) Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.  — Isaiah 55:6 (NASB)

He Knows

Image
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’ — Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) In the Message Bible, the LORD says: “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out —plans to take care of you, not abandon you…” (Jeremiah 29:11) Trust Almighty God, Who sees the whole picture. He has all your days written in His book and His plans for you are for peace and well-being. But [continue to] live in the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the LORD day by day. Surely there is a future [and a reward], and your hope and expectation will not be cut off. — Proverbs 23:17b-18 (AMP)

Unwavering Confidence

Image
For even though I am absent [from you] in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, delighted to see your good discipline [as you stand shoulder to shoulder and form a solid front] and to see the stability of your faith in Christ [your steadfast reliance on Him and your unwavering confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].  — Colossians 2:5 (AMP) We can stand stable in our faith because the LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. (Psalm 25:8 NLT) The LORD is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works. (Psalm 145:9 NASB) Be confident that you will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)

Keep Watching

Image
Nevertheless, keep watching! I will restore this city and heal the wounds of My people. I will lavish them with peace and stability. — Jeremiah 33:6 (VOICE) “But now take another look. I’m going to give this city a thorough renovation, working a true healing inside and out. I’m going to show them life whole, life brimming with blessings. I’ll restore everything that was lost to Judah and Jerusalem. I’ll build everything back as good as new. I’ll scrub them clean from the dirt they’ve done against me. I’ll forgive everything they’ve done wrong, forgive all their rebellions. (Jeremiah 33:6-8 MSG) Our heavenly Father is a God of restoration and renewal. He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

EMBRACED!

Image
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. — Romans 8:35-36 (NLT) None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us. (Romans 8:38-39 MSG) …nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. (Romans 8:35 TPT)

He Watches Over You

Image
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. — Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB) The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. (Psalm 121:5-8 NLT) Lift up your eyes. 'Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.’  — Isaiah 41:10 (TPT)

Walk by Faith

Image
for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises] — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (AMP) Let’s live our lives by faith, with confidence in the power and goodness of our great God. Because we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28 NASB) And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved. — Hebrews 10:38-39 (NLT)

BE PREPARED

Image
Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. — Ephesians 6:13-18 (MSG) When we clothe ourselves with the full armor of God, we are prepared and protected. Amen!

Constant Source of Stability

Image
He will be your constant source of stability in changing times, and out of his abundant love he gives you the riches of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. Yes, the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure! — Isaiah 33:6 (TPT) In a constantly changing world, the LORD will be our constant source of security and the stability of our times. The Voice Bible says: God will be what holds things together, fast and firm during these times… (Isaiah 33:6a). He will hold our families together. He will hold His church together. It is key to fear, reverence and honor the Lord, our God. In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence... (Proverbs 14:26a NASB) Fix your thoughts upon the LORD. Lord, You have been our dwelling place [our refuge, our sanctuary, our stability] in all generations. — Psalm 90:1 (AMP)

Depend on God

Image
People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the LORD God you have a sure thing. — Isaiah 26:3 (MSG) As we continue in prayer and praise to our mighty God, He will keep us in perfect peace. When we worship the LORD, our worries flee, and His power fills the atmosphere. The sure thing we have with Jesus, is victory over this world. Fix your thoughts upon the Most High God and dedicate your hearts to Him.

More Grace

Image
You may think that the situation is hopeless, but God gives us more grace when we turn away from our own interests. That’s why Scripture says, God opposes the proud, but He pours out grace on the humble. — James 4:6 (VOICE) Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, (1 Peter 5:6). So I’ve learned from my experience that God protects the childlike and humble ones. For I was broken and brought low, but he answered me and came to my rescue! (Psalm 116:6 TPT) He rules by His might forever; His eyes keep watch on the nations; Let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah. (Psalm 66:7 NASB)  But the humble of heart will inherit every promise and enjoy abundant peace. (Psalm 37:11 TPT)

Hope in God

Image
Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless and disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. — Psalm 42:11 (AMP) Hold onto your hope in God. It serves as an anchor, holding you close to the Lord, and keeping you from drifting away by the waves of doubt and fear. This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells], (Hebrews 6:19 AMP) So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.” Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, living before his face is my saving grace! — Psalm 42:11 (TPT)

A Very Present Help

Image
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. — Psalm 46:1 (NASB) The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. (Nahum 1:7 NLT) Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Jesus. (John 14:1) He is our Savior, Redeemer and the Solid Rock. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and our Good Shepherd. He is King of kings and Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega. And He says: “ I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age. ” (Matthew 28:20 AMP) Amen. I have set the LORD continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8 (NASB)

Pray at All Times

Image
Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, — Luke 18:1 (NASB) Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the Lord rescues him from them all. (Psalm 34:19 AMP) So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (Hebrews 4:16 NLT) Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (James 5:16 NLT) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. — Philippians 4:6 (NASB)

Peace in Every Circumstance

Image
Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]  — John 14:27 (AMP) While the world may be insecure and unstable, as citizens in the Kingdom of God, we have a firm foundation that is not moved by the constantly changing circumstances of this world. When chaos and calamities confront the world, Believers are calm and undisturbed. Men and women of God do not panic, but remain in perfect peace, which transcends human understanding. Those in the world may be fearful, but children of God trust our heavenly Father and live by faith. Believers triumph over the troubles of this world, because we are in Christ, and Jesus has already overcome the world. Amen.

Trust & Faith

Image
When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You. — Psalm 56:3 (AMP) The Lord is my light and my salvation; he protects me from danger—whom shall I fear? (Psalm 27:1 TLB) For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. (2 Timothy 1:7 AMP) “ Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. ” — John 14:1 (AMP)

Live Free from Worry

Image
...casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. — 1 Peter 5:7 (NASB) Live free from worry by casting every care, concern, and all of your anxiety on the LORD, because He most definitely cares for you. Destroy speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, (2 Corinthians 10:5). If a thought does not line up with the Word of God it has no place in the mind of a Believer. The LORD will accomplish what concerns you because His lovingkindness is everlasting; (Psalm 138:8) Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. — Psalm 55:22 (NASB)

BLESS THE LORD

Image
Blessed be the LORD, who bears our burden day by day, the God who is our salvation Selah. — Psalm 68:19 (AMP) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; (Psalm 103:1-4 NASB) Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it. (Psalm 37:4-5 NASB)

God Above All

Image
Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth. — Psalm 46:10 (TPT) O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! (Psalm 8:1 (NASB) The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe. (Proverbs 18:10 NASB) Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other. — Deuteronomy 4:39 (NASB)

Have No Fear

Image
You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you. — Psalm 91:5-7 (NASB) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear… (1 John 4:18) and the love our heavenly Father has for us perfect and unfailing. He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. (Psalm 91:4 AMP) For you have made the LORD, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:9-11 NASB)

Teach Me

Image
Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; for I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; I take refuge in You. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground . — Psalm 143:8-10 (NASB) May we present our bodies to God as living and holy sacrifices (Romans 12:1), and have ears to listen to His instruction, as He teaches us the way to walk. Instead of conforming to the ways of this world, may we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as He teaches us to walk in love, forgiveness, grace and mercy. He teaches us the way of joy and peace as we trust Him to lead us on level ground.

The LORD is my Shepherd

Image
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. — Psalm 23:1-4 (NASB) No matter how dark the valley you may walk through, remember the Shepherd is with you. The Amplified Bible says: The LORD is my Shepherd to feed, to guide and to shield me… (Psalm 23:1a). I will say to the LORD, “ My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust! ” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. (Psalm 91:2-3 NASB)

Search Me

Image
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. — Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) Invite the LORD into every crevice and corner of your heart. Let Him examine each area and expose it to the light of His love. As His Presence inhabits more of your heart, anxious thoughts cease and peaces flows. He will soften and warm the cold, hard areas of your heart. Any bitterness will be turned to sweet. God will nurse the wounded parts and bring healing. He will restore the shattered broken pieces. Invite Him into those dark closets you hold under lock and key, and watch the wonderful work our God will do when we truly open our whole heart to Him.

This is the Day

Image
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NASB) …our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name. (Psalm 33:21) We can rejoice today because God is with us and nothing that happens today will catch Him by surprise. The LORD has already made a way for us. He only is my rock and my salvation; My fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged. (Psalm 62:6 AMP)

He is Faithful

Image
Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.’ — Isaiah 41:10 (TPT) Our God is faithful, and He is always near. We have His strength to help us in every situation. Be confident that you will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)

Always Trust

Image
But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever. — Psalm 52:8 (NASB) Always trust confidently in God’s unfailing love. He is not only a Promise Maker, He is a Promise Keeper. He is faithful to watch over His Word and perform it. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT) The work God is doing is IN us. Be assured that whatever circumstances God is allowing in your life, will eventually bring about the good intended by the LORD. You have heard of the patient endurance of Job and you have seen the Lord’s outcome [how He richly blessed Job]. The Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. — James 5:11b (AMP)

Our Gracious Guide

Image
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. — Psalm 32:8 (NASB) We can bumble around in confusion and doubt or we can ask God to guide us in wisdom, truth and knowledge. He knows what is best and He sees the whole picture. Let us make our ears attentive to wisdom and incline our hearts to understanding (Proverbs 2:2), for our generous God is ready to share His wisdom with us. James 1:5 says: … if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. I have heard “ When the student is ready to learn the teacher appears .” For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, — Proverbs 2:6-7 (NASB)

In Every Season

Image
Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let joy overflow, for you are united with the Anointed One! Let gentleness be seen in every relationship, for our Lord is ever near. — Philippians 4:4-5 (TPT) Ecclesiastes 3:1 says: There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven— (NASB) Therefore, in every situation and season, let our hearts be full of gratitude, continually giving thanks to God. In every season, we are united with Christ. The Lord will lead us and guide us. In every season, He provides and He protects. Remember what God has done and look at what He is doing now. Our hearts will overflow with joy, as we believe God's Word and trust that He is working everything together for our good.
