Have an Understanding Heart

Image
“So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” — 1 Kings 3:9 (NASB1995) The LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream and God said, “Ask what you wish Me to give you.” (See 1 Kings 3:5)  Instead of focusing on riches for himself or revenge on his enemies, King Solomon asked for an understanding heart, and it was pleasing in the sight of the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing. (See 1 Kings 3:10) Let us seek to have an understanding heart, to discern between good and evil. Proverbs 14:33 says: Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding… Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; (Proverbs 2:2 NASB1995) May the LORD give us understanding according to His word. The unfolding of His words gives light; (See Psalm 119:169 & 119:130) If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humilit

Perfect Peace is Ours!

Image
Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] — John 14:27 (AMP) When the enemy tries to bombard your mind with anxious thoughts remember you have the mind of Christ. (See 1 Corinthians 2:16) And we have His peace. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. Don’t let him rob you. Hold on to your peace, in every circumstance and challenge. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. (See Philippians 4:7) Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly. (See John 10:10 NASB1995) Living in the Kingdom of God is about peace, love, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

This is the Day!

Image
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. — Psalm 118:24 (NASB1995) May we make a choice to rejoice in Yahweh each and every day He gives us. No matter what comes our way today, it is the day which the LORD has made. All of our days were written in His book before we were born. (See Psalm 139:16) We can be glad because the plans the LORD has for us are for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give us a future and a hope. (See Jeremiah 29:11 AMP) We can be glad that when the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and rescues them from all their distress and troubles. (See Psalm 34:17 AMP) For the LORD will not abandon His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance. (Psalm 94:14 NASB1995) Amen.

The LORD is on Your Side

Image
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me? The LORD is on my side, He is among those who help me; Therefore I will look [in triumph] on those who hate me. — Psalm 118:6-7 (AMP) What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us? (Romans 8:31 AMP) Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. (Psalm 27:3 NLT) All you who fear the LORD, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield. The LORD remembers us and will bless us… (Psalm 115:11-12a NLT) It is better to put your faith in the Eternal for your security than to trust in people. (Psalm 118:8 VOICE) So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. — Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)

Be the Light

Image
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  — Matthew 5:14-15  (NASB1995)  Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16  NASB1995) For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. (Ephesians 5:8-9 NLT) May your light continually shine and illuminate the darkness around you, wherever you go. Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. (Ephesians 5:1-2a NLT)

Keep Walking

Image
Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me. — Psalm 23:4 (AMP) Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. (Psalm 138:7 AMP) Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. (Psalm 143:8 NKJV) Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. (Psalm 143:10 NASB1995) Whenever we walk into trouble, let us keep walking. Yahweh is with us and He will bring us through. Take comfort knowing that He is near and He will protect and guide you. The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. — Psalm 138:8 (NLT)

Hear & Believe

Image
Many more believed because of His word; and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.” — John 4:41-42 (NASB1995) First Timothy 4:10 (NASB1995) says: For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers. (1 Timothy 4:10 (NASB1995) Where is your hope? Let us continue looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. (See Titus 2:13-14 NASB1995) The Apostle John says: We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. (1 John 4:14-15 NASB1995) We have

Never Forgotten

Image
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You. — Psalm 139:17-18 (NASB1995) O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. (Psalm 139:1-3 NASB1995) You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalm 56:8 NLT) We are never forgotten. The LORD has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. (Psalm 115:12 NASB1995) Elohim, the all-powerful Creator of the universe is mindful of each one of us. Wow! He is an attentive and faithful Father. In Hebrews 13:5 NASB1995) the LORD says: “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” He lavishes His unfailing love u

Know & Understand

Image
This is what the LORD says : “ Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth,
and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken! ” — Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NLT) First Chronicles 22:19 (NKJV) says: “ Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God. ” Don’t turn your heart away from the LORD our God, to seek the things of this world. They may satisfy for a season, but they are temporary and superficial. Let your heart take delight in the ways of Yahweh. In the Presence of the LORD, is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. He will make known to you the path of life. (See Psalm 16:11) The Word says: NOW set your heart... This indicates a sense of urgency. You do not know what will happen tomorrow. (See

The Fear of the LORD

Image
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. — Psalm 111:10 (NKJV) The fear of the LORD is to hate evil. (See Proverbs 8:13 NKJV) The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, so that one may avoid the snares of death. (Proverbs 14:27 AMP) Proverbs 19:23 (NKJV) says, he who has the fear of the LORD will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. (Psalm 34:7 NASB1995) In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. (Proverbs 14:26 NKJV) Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments. (Psalm 112:1 NASB1995) Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways. (Psalm 128:1 NKJV)  Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world s

Bless the LORD

Image
Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, and all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name. Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget any of His benefits; — Psalm 103:1-2 (AMP) He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases. He redeems us from death and crowns us with love and tender mercies. He fills our lives with good things. Our youth is renewed like the eagle’s! (See Psalm 103:3-5 NLT) The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness. (Psalm 103:8 AMP) As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father loves his children, so the LORD loves those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence]. (Psalm 103:12-13 AMP)  I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. — Psalm 34:1 (NASB1995)

Stay Alert!

Image
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. — 1 Peter 5:8 (NASB1995) The Message Bible says: …The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. (1 Peter 5:8) So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 AMP) Stand strong. Remember, that followers of Christ have the victory. Revelation 12:10 (NKJV) says: …I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”  “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.” (Revelation 17:14 NASB1995) Amen. And hallelujah!

The God of All Comfort

Image
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. — Psalm 126:5-6 (NLT) Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT) says: For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. (Ecclesiastes 3:4 NLT) Weeping may endure for a night, but let a shout of joy come in the morning. May we persevere through the difficult and painful seasons and embrace the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. (See 2 Corinthians 1:3-4) He will turn your deepest pains into joyful dancing; He will strip off your dark clothing and cover you with joyful light. (See Psalm 30:11 VOICE) Amen.

Lead Me to The Rock!

Image
From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah. — Psalm 61:2-4 (NASB1995) When your heart is overwhelmed and weak, call upon Yahweh. He is the Everlasting Rock. All His ways are justice. Righteous and upright is He. For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect. (2 Samuel 22:32-33 NLT) No one is holy like the LORD, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God. (1 Samuel 2:2 NKJV)  My soul waits in silence for God only; from Him is my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2 NAS1995)  As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. (2 Samuel 22:31 NKJV)

Always Give Thanks

Image
always giving thanks to God the Father for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; — Ephesians 5:20 (AMP) Regardless of our circumstances, let us always be giving thanks to Yahweh, our Provider. We may be pressured on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are bewildered at times, but we do not give in to despair. We may be persecuted, but never abandoned by God. We may get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. (See 2 Corinthians 4:8-9) Amen! Whatever your current state of affairs may be, keep your eyes on Yeshua, and stay connected to Him. Our union with Him is vital. Apart from Him we can do nothing. (See John 15:5 AMP) Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving , continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. — Philippians 4:6 (AMP)

He Sustains You

Image
Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. — Psalm 55:22 (NASB1995) Why insist on carrying a load that Yahweh is more than willing to receive from you? When we truly cast our burdens, as the Word tells us to, we don’t just set them down beside us, but we throw them away from us, as far as possible. So release your troubles into His capable hands, and don't pick them up again. Yahweh is the Way Maker. When our minds are stayed upon Him, instead of our challenges, He will keep us in perfect peace. (See Isaiah 26:3) He will sustain you. He will strengthen and support you in every area, mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.  The LORD our God will enlighten your darkness. (See Psalm 18:28 NKJV) No matter what the circumstances may be, Yahweh never ceases to care for you. The LORD sustains all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down. — Psalm 145:14 (NASB1995)

Don't be Surprised

Image
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you. — 1 Peter 4:12 (AMP) Jesus told His disciples that in this world we would have tribulation, distress and suffering. However, He says to be courageous and filled with joy. In Him, we may have perfect peace because He has overcome the world. (See John 16:33 AMP) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37 AMP) May we consider our difficulties, troubles and trials as an opportunity to trust God. For we walk by faith, not by sight. (See 2 Corinthians 5:7) Let us lift up the shield of faith with which we will be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (See Ephesians 6:16) Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all.

Our Hiding Place

Image
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found… You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. — Psalm 32:6a,7 (NASB1995) Don’t be like Adam and Eave who hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God after they sinned. (See Genesis 3:6-8) If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. (1 John 1:9 AMP) Rejoice greatly in Yahweh! He has clothed us with garments of salvation and covered us with a robe of righteousness. Make Him Your hiding place today. Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous [who actively seek right standing with Him]; Shout for joy, all you upright in heart. — Psalm 32:11 (AMP)

Through Fire & Flood

Image
Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. …We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. — Psalm 65:8-9,12 (NLT) Just as He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the fiery furnace, the God Most High will be with you. (See Daniel 3:24-26) The fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke! (See Daniel 3:27) In Isaiah 43:2 (NLT), the LORD says: “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Hallelujah!  The two main points are that Yahweh is with you, and He will bring you through. It’s not about what you go through. We all go through something, and sooner or later it does come to pass. The more signif

The Battle Belongs to God

Image
..and he said, “Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.” — 2 Chronicles 20:15 (NASB1995) Listen carefully, people of the Most High God. Whatever situation you are facing today, remember that the battle belongs to Yahweh. He goes before us and makes a way. He says cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. (See 1 Peter 5:7) Don’t be discouraged, nor let difficulties distract you from our everlasting Father and His sovereignty. Our troubles are light and momentary, and they will come to pass, but our great God is eternal. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. (Isaiah 26:4 NKJV) God is with us, and nothing is too difficult for Him. He will work everything together for good for those who love Him and are called according to his purpose for them. (See Romans 8:28) Amen.

Boast in His Name

Image
Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. — Psalm 20:7 (NASB1995) Let us not boast about material possessions or our monetary resources. Don’t boast about what you drive nor the location or size of the house you live in. Don’t boast about the letters or titles behind your name. All these things are temporary. Let us boast only in the name of YAHWEH. For the world and all it contains are His. (See Psalm 50:12)  Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from our Heavenly Father. (See James 2:17) He is the everlasting God. Elohim, Creator of the universe and all it contains. He is the only true and living God, full of grace and mercy. The LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (See Proverbs 2:6) All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. (See Psalm 94:4) But let us boast in the name of Yahweh, that we know Him, and strive to walk with Him all of our days. Boast in the nam

Don't Grow Weary

Image
Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. — Galatians 6:9 (AMP) God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm.” (Psalm 75:2-3 NLT) Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! (Psalm 53:1 NLT) Yahweh has a set time for judgement and justice to be executed. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. (2 Peter 3:9) God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. (Psalm 53:2) For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.” (Psalm 75:10) Keep fighting

Dine with The King

Image
“Don’t be afraid!” David said. “I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!” — 2 Samuel 9:7 (NLT) King David had Mephibosheth, Saul’s grandson, brought from Lo-debar. And Mephibosheth, who was crippled in both feet, lived in Jerusalem and ate regularly at the king’s table. (2 Samuel 9:13 NLT) Our heavenly Father sent His Son, to bring us out of the low valleys, deep pits, and dark places. Immanuel has drawn us, with lovingkindness, into His marvelous light. He summons us to come close to Him. In Revelation 3:20, He invites us to dine with Him daily.  He says: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Abba Father prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies. He anoints and refreshes your head with oil; y

Rely on His Unfailing Love

Image
But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. — Psalm 33:18 (NLT) Let us rely on the unfailing love of Yahweh. This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD. (Jeremiah 17:5 NLT) May we stop relying on ourselves and learn to rely only on God, who raises the dead. For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth. (Psalm 33:4-5 NLT) Each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon us. (See Psalm 42:8 NLT) We can always trust in God’s unfailing love. We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone. ...I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. (Psalm 33:20-22,13:5) How pre

The Valley of Decision

Image
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. — Joel 3:14 (NKJV) In 2 Corinthians 6:2 (NASB1995), God says: “At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation” We bear the consequences for the decisions we make. Decide wisely today. Yahweh has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. (See Deuteronomy 30:19) Choose righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (See Romans 14:17) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6) Open the door of your heart to Him today. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Romans 10:13 NLT)

Entirely Faithful

Image
The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne. O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O LORD? You are entirely faithful. — Psalm 89:7-8 (NLT) Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. (Psalm 96:4 NLT) The heavens are His, and the earth is His; everything in the world is His— He created it all. (See Psalm 89:11 NLT) Our protection comes from the LORD... He is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide. (See Psalm 89:18,94:22 NLT) His unfailing love for us is powerful; the LORD’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the LORD! (See Psalm 117:2 NLT) …let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. (Hebrews 4:1

Return to the LORD

Image
But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me]. — Revelation 2:4 (AMP) “Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping and mourning; and rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil. (Joel 2:12-13 NASB1995)  In Ezekiel 36:26-27 (NLT), the LORD says: “...I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.” Come. Let us return to the LORD wholeheartedly, with tender hearts that are responsive to Him.

Recognize the LORD

Image
O nations of the world, recognize the LORD, recognize that the LORD is glorious and strong. Give to the LORD the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the LORD in all his holy splendor. — 1 Chronicles 16:28-29 (NLT) Let the whole earth sing to the LORD! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. (1 Chronicles 16:23-25 NLT) Through Christ, God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. (See Colossians 1:15-17 NLT) Honor the LORD for the glory of his name. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. (Psalm 29:2 NLT) Let your offering be a humble heart that overflows with love and affection for Yahweh. Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim h

Believe

Image
The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn’t believe his promise to care for them. Instead, they grumbled in their tents and refused to obey the LORD. — Psalm 106:24-25 (NLT) Some wandered in the wilderness, lost and homeless. Hungry and thirsty, they nearly died. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress. (Psalm 107:4-6 NLT) Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery. They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High. That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. (Psalm 107:10-13 NLT) Yahweh is faithful. He is the LORD, and He does not change. (See Malachi 3:6) Believe His promise to care for His people. Instead of grumbling and complaining, praise the LORD for His great love and for the wonderful things He has done for us. (See Psalm 107:15

Yet I will Rejoice!

Image
“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!” — Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NLT) When our resources are limited, or all together lacking, we are presented with an opportunity to humble ourselves and thank Yahweh for being our true source. James 1:2 (NLT) says: Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. We can rejoice knowing that our Heavenly Father is good. He has an unlimited supply and He is faithful to provide all that we need. Let us be joyful in the God of our salvation, at all times! Amen.
