He is Coming!

"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." Revelation 22:12 (NIV) I don't think any believer will dispute that we are living in the end times. Jesus is coming soon! Make a decision to worship the Lord throughout 2009. That means putting Him first in all we do, loving God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and loving our neighbors as we love ourselves. May you have a BLESSED New Year! Love, Jackie

We Overcome

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; Revelation 12:11 (NIV) For me, this is one of the most important verses in the bible. We overcome Satan by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. The end of the book has already been written. No matter what we go through on this earth, we WIN. Let us keep our eyes on the prize: eternally dwelling with our heavenly Father. Love, Jackie

In Our Defense

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 1 John 2:1 (NIV) The Apostle John wrote this letter warning Christians about being misled away from the truth. Satan prowls about looking for someone to devour and He accuses us before God. But we have the Lord Jesus Christ who speaks to the Father in our defense. Praise the Lord. Love, Jackie

Be Clear Minded

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. 1 Peter 4:7 (NIV) In Matthew 6:25, Jesus tells us not to worry about our lives. In Matthew 11:28, He says He will give rest to everyone who is weary and burdened. His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30). So let us clear our minds of our concerns by casting all our cares on the LORD. Remove the clutter of this life that distracts you from having heart-to-heart conversation with Abba Father. Exercise self-control and pray at all times. Love, Jackie

They Gave Him Gifts

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. Matthew 2:11 (NIV) After Jesus was born, Magi from the east went to Bethlehem to worship Jesus and to present Him with gifts. Have you opened the treasure of your heart for the Lord? I encourage you to lay your heart in the hands of Jesus so He can fill it with His eternal love and compassion. Give Him your mind so you can be transformed as your mind is renewed with His Word (Romans 12:2). Offer your body to Jesus, as a living sacrifice so you may be holy and pleasing to God (Romans 12:1). These are the treasures we are to present to the Lord: our hearts, our minds and our bodies. Amen. Love, Jackie

The Empty Way of Life

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV) Without Jesus our lives are empty. In Jesus, we have a living hope, overflowing love and abiding peace. In Him we have fullness of life. May we put Jesus Christ, our Redeemer first in all we do. He gave His all for us. Love, Jackie

Spread the Word

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it where amazed at what the shepherds said to them. Luke 2:16-18 (NIV) "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11) The fact that Jesus Christ came to earth to save us is Good News of great joy that is for all people. Spread the word. Merry CHRISTmas! Love, Jackie

The Devil Destroyed

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. Hebrews 2:14-15 (NIV) Jesus humbled himself, put on humanity and was made like us. By His death He destroyed the devil and freed us from our fear of death. Romans 14:8 says, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Oh what liberty and power we have in Christ. Imagine what believers would dare do for God when we really understand that the devil holds no power over us as long as we remain in Christ. Jesus has already given us the victory. May we be bold and do great things for the kingdom of God in the coming year.  Love, Jackie

Rebirth and Renewal

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit... Titus 3:4-5 (NIV) When we accepted Christ Jesus we were born again, into eternal life. The old passed away and God created us anew. God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). We have an abundant new life in Christ, a life of hope and faith, a life of power and strength. Thank God for His love, kindness and mercy. Amen. Love, Jackie

At Your Side

But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth. 2 Timothy 4:17 (NIV) The Apostle Paul said everyone had deserted him (2 Tim 4:16). If you are experiencing hardships and it seems that no one is there to support you, be confident that the Lord is at your side and He will give you strength. Praise the Lord.  Love, Jackie

Train Yourself

Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV) We must use wisdom and exercise self-control to live a godly life. It doesn't come easily and naturally. Like those in physical training we need to discipline ourselves and take in the proper diet. As we feast on the Word of God, our minds and hearts are renewed and transformed to be more like Christ. Let us pursue godliness which has great value for all things, including our relationships, our mental health & emotional well-being. Grace and Peace to you, With Love, Jackie

His Word at Work

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NIV) The word of God is at work in those who believe. Let us read and meditate on the wonderful Word of God. Instead of giving attention to the negative reports in the news, focus on the good news in the Word. No matter what the world says, the Word tells us God will meet all our needs (Philippians 4:19). While the circumstances we see today are temporary, the Word of God stands forever. Believe His Word. Amen. Grace & Peace to you, Love, Jackie

Brought Near

...you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:12-13 (NIV) We have been brought near to the throne of God. Now we can fellowship with Almighty God, Creator of the universe. Let us always seek to draw closer to Him. Because of the blood of Jesus, we can approach His throne with confidence and receive mercy and grace. He loves us and wants to spend time with us. Draw near. Love, Jackie

Not Destroyed

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:8 (NIV) When we are hemmed in on every side, we have to look up to our heavenly Father from whom our help comes. When the world pushes in on us, we need to press in deeper to God, our strong tower and mighty fortress. We are in a non-stop battle against the forces of evil and as long as we abide in Christ we can be assured of victory.  Love, Jackie

Be Aware

If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven - if there was anything to forgive - I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NIV) Be aware of Satan's schemes. If we get stuck in unforgiveness we have fallen for his ploy and Satan has outwitted us. Colossians 3:13 tells us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Have a forgiving spirit and stay clear of the traps of the enemy. Peace & Love to you, Jackie

Set Your Hope

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. 2 Corinthians 1:10-11 (NIV) God is the strong foundation on which we can set our hope. He will not fail us, but will deliver us from all our troubles, as He has promised. All God's promises are "Yes" in Christ (1 Cor 1:20). Amen. Set your hope on the living God, full of power and might and you will not be disappointed. In His Love, Jackie

Let Nothing Move You

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (NIV) May we stand firm in our faith, knowing that in Jesus Christ, we have the victory. Do not be moved by the trials that come your way. Instead, speak to your mountain and tell it to move. Love & Peace to you, Jackie

The Way of Love

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 1 Corinthians 14:1 (NIV) Let us follow the way of love, not only in the exercise of our spiritual gifts but at all times. Love is not self-seeking. It puts the needs of others before self. Love keeps no records of wrongs (1 Cor 13:5). It turns the other cheek and covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). The only debt we are to have is the continuing debt to love one another (Romans 13:8). Love, Jackie

Run with a Purpose

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 1 Corinthians 9:25-26 (NIV) Let us not run aimlessly. Don't float through life with no goals, just letting the circumstances of life carry you where they may. God created each one of us with a purpose in mind and a passion in our hearts. Seek direction from your Creator, and diligently read the training manual, the Bible. Follow the hand of God as He leads you into your destiny. You are a child of the King and you have a divine and unique purpose to fulfill. Love, Jackie

No Eye Has Seen

However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV) The human mind cannot begin to comprehend the fullness of what God has for those who believe, but we can be sure that it is better than what we have here on earth. A popular movie asked the question, "Is this as good as it gets?" We can rest assured that the best is yet to come. Keep your eye on the prize and run your race to the finish line. Love, Jackie

Your Faith

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NIV) Let our faith not rest on what we think we know, but on the power of God, the power that divided the Red Sea, and raised Jesus from the dead, the power that gives sight to blind eyes and heals the sick. Instead of believing what you see (your current circumstances), put your faith in what you do not see, God's power working in your life. Amen. Love, Jackie

Continue in His Kindness

Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Romans 11:22 (NIV) God showed us kindness by grafting us into His family. We are to continue in His kindness by embracing those we would like to shun away from and associating with people of low position. We are to bless those who persecute us and not seek revenge (Romans 12). Let us live at peace with everyone, and always show brotherly kindness. Love, Jackie

Life and Peace

The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6 (NIV) As we renew our minds with the Word of God, we are transformed. Submit to His Word and His Spirit and you will have life more abundantly and ever flowing peace.  Love, Jackie

Good to All

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.  The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. Psalm 145:8-9 (NIV) God is good. Draw near to the LORD and experience His grace and compassion in abundant measure. His well never runs dry. Don't ever think God is out to get you. He loves you and only wants the best for you. Love & Peace to you, Jackie

Fully Persuaded

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.  Romans 4:20-21 (NIV) When Abraham was about 100 years old, God told him, "I have made you the father of many nations." Abraham faced the fact that his body was as good as dead but He was strengthened in his faith and believed God could do what He promised. Do not waver in unbelief regarding the promises of God. Be fully persuaded that God is able. Love & Peace, Jackie

Bring Me Out!

For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. Psalm 143:11 (NIV) When trouble comes your way, call on God for help. He is faithful to bring us out of all our trials and tribulations. Keep trusting God and He will see you through. Much Love, Jackie

The Power of God

I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. Romans 1:16 (NIV) The good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ is full of God's power. It was the power of God that raised Jesus from the dead. God has given us a spirit of power by His Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Remember, the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We have overcome. In His Love, Jackie

Raging Storms

When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved. Acts 27:20 (NIV) When raging storms come upon us for many days and only dark clouds loom above, we may feel like giving up all hope. But listen to the words the Apostle Paul spoke to those who were on the boat with him. He said, "Keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God..." (Acts 27:25)  Have faith in God to withstand the raging storms and He will bring you through.  In His Love, Jackie

A Clear Conscience

So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man. Acts 24:16 (NIV) Let us be like the Apostle Paul and always strive to keep a clear conscience before God and people. That means we have to exercise our love muscle in all our interactions. Make a decision today  to walk in love with God and your neighbors at home, work and play. In His Love, Jackie

The Word of His Grace

"Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Acts 20:32 (NIV) Receive the grace which God has abundantly provided to help you in time of need. His grace builds you up and brings hope. God's unmerited favor meets us at the point where our human limitations fall short. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. In His Love, Jackie

The Power of Prayer & Praise

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. Acts 16:25-26 (NIV) No matter what fiery trials come upon us, we must continue to send up our prayers and our praises in order to experience victory. Paul and Silas had been stripped, beaten and thrown into prison but they continued to pray and sing. What do you need the power of God to loosen in your life? Keep praying and praising God and expect the foundations of your world to be shaken. Much Love, Jackie

No Favoritism

Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right." Acts 10:34-35 (NIV) God does not show favoritism. God's throne room is open for all who accept Jesus Christ to approach with confidence and receive the grace and mercy to help them in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). The ear of God is always open to hear those who call upon Him. Praise the LORD! Love, Jackie

My Thanksgiving Story

I led them with chords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them. Hosea 11:4 (NIV) In the above Scripture, God is talking about how He cared for Israel.  He leads them with human kindness and ties of love. I started my quiet time with the LORD by thanking Him for all the wonderful blessings He has given me: my husband, our children, my parents, sisters, coworkers, church family and friends. But I'm most touched this morning by the kind acts of unknown strangers who I will probably never meet. Today my daughter, Crystal celebrates her 22nd birthday and Thanksgiving in the small town of Huntingdon, England where she serves in the Navy. I was brought to tears and my heart filled with gratitude as she told me how some military wives got together and served the military men & women a delicious Thanksgiving meal yesterday. I am so grateful to God for the kind acts of total strangers that reached out to my daughter when I couldn

Whatever You Do...Give Thanks

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 (NIV) Let us give thanks for all God has given us to do and speak. Thank God for your spouse, children, family, and friends He has given you to love. Be grateful for the God given ability to work and play. I appreciate each and every one of you for being a part of my life. Have a BLESSED Thanksgiving Day! Thank you, Love, Jackie

When Your Spirit Grows Faint

When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who know my way. Psalm 142:3 (NIV) When your spirit grows faint, keep following the LORD. He will be your guide and show you the way. He refreshes the weary and satisfies the faint (Jeremiah 31:25). Keep your hope in the LORD and your strength will be renewed. Love, Jackie

Be of Good Cheer

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33 (NKJ) On earth we have tribulation but Jesus tells us to be of good cheer because as long as we remain in Him we can be at peace. In Jesus, we are above the circumstances of this world and He will cause us to triumph over any trial because He has overcome the world.  In Love & Peace, Jackie

Stop Doubting and Believe

Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." John 20:27 (NIV) When the disciples told Thomas they had seen the Lord, Thomas said he would not believe unless he saw the nail marks in His hands and put his finger where the nails were, and put his hand into His side. Don't be a doubting Thomas. We are to walk by faith and not by sight. Nothing is too difficult for our great God. Believe that He exists and that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Love, Jackie

It is Finished

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30 (NIV) The words "It is finished," signified the completion of Jesus' mission on earth. He built the bridge for a sinful humanity to reach a holy God. He stamped the debts for our sins, "PAID IN FULL." When we confess our sins to God we are cleansed in the blood of Jesus. God forgives us and we experience His amazing grace. Love, Jackie

Complete Unity

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message..." -  John 17:20 (NIV) "I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." -  John 17:23 (NIV) When the time was near for Jesus to die on the cross, He prayed for all those who would believe in Him to come together as one. As followers of Jesus Christ, may we set aside all our differences and unite. Psalm 133:1 says, how good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! Our unity is a testimony to the world that God sent Jesus and that He loves them. Love, Jackie

Fruit That Will Last

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other. John 15:16-17 (NIV) Jesus appointed us to bear fruit that will last. When we walk in love with each other, our actions produce the sweet, delicious fruit of joy, peace, and patience. When we touch the life of another human being with a kind deed and a caring attitude, this is fruit that will last. May you go and bear much eternal fruit. Amen.  Love, Jackie

Will You Lay Your Life Down for Jesus?

Then Jesus answered, "Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!" John 13:38 (NIV) Simon Peter pledged to lay his life down for Jesus, but when the time of testing came, he denied he knew Jesus. Words speak volumes but our actions say even more. Here is something to really think about. Do you disown the Lord, by your actions? By choosing things of this world above things of God's kingdom? Do you prefer to receive your praise from man instead of from God? Do you seek to gratify self or obey God? Jesus forgave Peter and He will forgive us when we repent. Lay your life down, pick up your cross daily and follow Jesus (Luke 9:23). Love, Jackie

Trust in the Light

Then Jesus told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light." John 12:35-36 (NIV) God is light and in Him there is no darkness (1 John 1:5). Trust in the light to guide you along the path you are to take. May we draw others out of the darkness as they see His light within us.  Love, Jackie

For This Very Reason

"Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" John 12:27-28 (NIV) Jesus came to earth at the appointed time. Likewise, God has us on earth at this time with a mission to accomplish. We each have a purpose to fulfill. Your heart may be troubled by the times, but keep your eyes on Jesus so you can finish your race and give glory to the kingdom of God. Love, Jackie

Sheep Follow their Shepherd

"He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him, because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger;" John 10:3-5 (NIV) There are many strange voices out there. Don't let them distract you. We must know the voice of Jesus Christ, in order to follow only Him. He is the Good Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep. He called you by name and said "Follow Me." Love, Jackie

Family is Forever

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:34-36 (NIV) God adopted us into His family, as His children and heirs (Romans 8:17). The blood of Jesus overrides anything we received in our fleshly bloodlines. We are free from anything that has come down through past generations. We are new creatures in Christ. Glory hallelujah! Jesus said, no one can snatch us out of the Father's hand. God has given us a permanent place in His family. Amen. Love, Jackie

Set Free

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:31-32 (NIV) If you are a disciple of Jesus, then you will know the truth and it will set you free. When we know the truth we are set free from worry, anxiety and depression. Truth destroys the shackles of fear. We are no longer enslaved to sin. Know the truth and walk in freedom.

Believe and Know

"You do not want to leave too, do you?" Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, "Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God." John 6:67-69 (NIV) Believe and know that we serve the Holy One of God. Let us live our lives for Him and Him alone.  Love, Jackie

A Personal Guide

"But I'll take the hand of those who don't know the way, who can't see where they're going. I'll be a personal guide to them, directing them through unknown country. I'll be right there to show them what roads to take, make sure they don't fall into the ditch. These are the things I'll be doing for them - sticking with them, not leaving them for a minute." Isaiah 42:16 (The Message) This Scripture is a very powerful promise from the LORD. When we admit we don't know where we are going, He is our personal guide. He charts the way for us in unfamiliar territory. He keeps us from falling into ditches by showing us exactly where to step. He assures us that He will not leave us even for one minute. Wow! Praise God.  Love, Jackie

Always at His Work

Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working." John 5:17 (NIV) No matter what troubles you may be facing, remember, God is always at work. He doesn't sleep nor slumber. He is aware of what is going on in your life and He cares. Whatever it is, He will use it for the good and He will see you THROUGH it. Amen. Love, Jackie

Reach Forward

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 3:13-14 (NKJ) May we be like the Apostle Paul and forget those things which are behind us and reach forward to fulfill our God-given destiny. Consider past failures, the times you missed the mark, as lessons learned and continue to seek God's will for you. Press on. Love, Jackie

Exhausted? Pray!

When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them sleep, exhausted from sorrow. "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation." Luke 22:45-46 (NIV) Prayer is so vitally important, even when the disciples were exhausted, Jesus instructed the disciples to get up and pray. In Ephesians 6:10-18, the Apostle Paul instructs believers to put on the full armor of God. After we are fully clothed with the armor, the very next thing he tells us to do is pray on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. The devil doesn't sleep. He is always prowling around seeking someone to devour. Be alert to his schemes and keep on praying. We win the battles of this life on our knees in prayer. Love, Jackie

May Your Faith Not Fail

"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." Luke 22:31-32 (NIV) Jesus prayed for Peter because He knew Satan was going to sift him. If you are going through a sifting experience, I pray you would hold onto your faith and keep looking to Jesus to bring deliverance and provision. If you know someone who is being sifted, please pray for them. Love, Jackie

What is His is Ours

"But he answered his father, 'Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.' " Luke 15:29 (NIV) " 'My son,' the father said, 'you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.' " Luke 15:31 (NIV) The older brother to the prodigal son had an attitude problem but his father lovingly responded and let him know, all that belonged to the father belonged to his son. Our heavenly Father has given to us all that belongs to Him.  He has given us the keys to the kingdom (Matthew 16:19). He has revealed the secrets of His kingdom (Luke 8:10). Abba Father has given us the land and seated us in heavenly places in Christ. Rejoice in your inheritance and give God glory. Love, Jackie

Filled with Compassion

"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." Luke 15:20 (NIV) The prodigal son left home and squandered his wealth in wild living. After a severe famine came on the land, he began to be in need and returned home to be one of his fathers servants. When we depart from the will of God in our lives, may we return home to our heavenly Father. He is full of compassion for us. His arms are wide open to embrace you with His love.   Love, Jackie

Living in the Light

If anyone claims, "I am living in the light," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness. Anyone who loves another brother or sister is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble.  1 John 2:9-10 (NLT) Followers of Jesus Christ are children of the light (1 Thess. 5:5). God has called us out of darkness and into His wonderful light (1 Peter 2:9). If anyone hates, he is still living in darkness. Jesus said "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:35) Let us be a good witness to unbelievers and walk in the unconditional love of Jesus Christ with our Christian brothers and sisters. Love, Jackie

His Purpose Prevails

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 (NIV) We may make our plans but when all is said and done the Lord's purpose will prevail. He created the heavens and spread out the earth. He gives breath to its people and life to those who walk on it. (Isaiah 42:5) Nothing is too difficult for the LORD. Hallelujah! Love, Jackie

Do Not Worry

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.  Luke 12:22 (NIV) Our heavenly Father does not want us to be overly concerned about our lives. That is His business. He knows what you need and when you need it. We are to seek first the kingdom of God and He will take care of the rest. Amen. Love, Jackie

Produce a Crop

"Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." - Luke 8:8 (NIV) "But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop." - Luke 8:15 (NIV) Followers of Christ are to be fruit-bearers. Jesus said the Father cuts off every branch in Him that bears no fruit (John 15:2). However, in Luke 8:15, He tells us how to produce a crop. It is by hearing the word, retaining it and persevering. Have a noble and good heart, one filled with the Word. Then keep following the Lord as He directs you, in spite of any barriers, challenges or difficulties. Run with perseverance the race marked out for you (Hebrews 12:1). Love, Jackie

Completely Restored

On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled. He...then said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He did so, and his hand was completely restored. Luke 6:6, 10 (NIV) Jesus brings complete restoration into our lives, whether it be our physical bodies, our relationships, or deep within our hearts. If you have something that is shriveled up in your life, stretch it our before the Lord and let it be completely restored. Love, Jackie

"Follow Me"

Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth.  "Follow me," Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Luke 5:27-28 (NIV) As true disciples of Jesus, we must leave everything and follow Him. In order to follow Jesus, we must keep our eyes on Him. Even when you don't understand the direction He is taking, keep putting your feet in His footsteps. When He stops, wait on the Lord. If you run ahead of Him you may take the wrong path and get lost. Just follow Jesus. Love, Jackie

An Opportune Time

When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time. Luke 4:13 (NIV) Jesus was out in the desert for forty days being tempted by the devil. Jesus came against the devil by speaking the Word of God and the devil left him until an opportune time. The devil prowls about like a lion looking for someone to devour. When he comes your way, be prepared to speak the Word and He will flee. Love, Jackie

Deserted

Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.  The men seized Jesus and arrested him. Then everyone deserted him and fled. Mark 14:45-46, 50 (NIV) There is nothing like the sting of betrayal or the pain of being deserted by those who professed to love you, but even Jesus Christ experienced betrayal and desertion. We can take comfort in knowing our heavenly Father will NEVER leave us or forsake us. He promises to be with us in the fiery flames and in the stormy flood waters. Praise the LORD! Love, Jackie

Not What I Will

Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." Mark 14:35-36 (NIV) People often ask "What would Jesus do?" The Scripture above shows what Jesus did when he was deeply distressed and troubled (Mark 14:33) because He knew it was time for Him to go to the cross and experience separation from the Father for the 1st time as He took on the sins of the world.  First, Jesus humbled Himself before the Father by falling to the ground. Second, He prayed. He acknowledged the power of Abba Father, that everything is possible for Him. Jesus spoke His desire and then submitted to the will of our heavenly Father. When we are overwhelmed with the issues of this life may we follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Amen. Love, Jackie

Put in Everything

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything - all she had to live on." Mark 12:43-44 (NIV) Do we give to God that which costs us nothing or do we make a sacrifice when we give? Jesus wants us to give our all, not just financial resources, but everything we hold dear. When we put it in the hands of the Lord and focus on Him, He blesses us with even more, souls that prosper, overflowing joy and peace, healthy bodies and sound minds. Put everything you have on the altar of God today and store your treasures in heaven.  Love, Jackie

Forgive

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:25 (NIV) When someone has hurt us or offended us in some way, it may be difficult to think about forgiving them. However, we can choose to forgive the person and ask God to help us forgive from the heart. Let it go. Remember all you have been forgiven of and imitate our heavenly Father. Love,  Jackie

Everything is Possible

Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." "If you can?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Mark 9:21-23 (NIV) Have your prayers ever included the words, "if you can"? Let us remember, with God ALL things are possible. When Jesus says, "everything", He means it. When the situation before you seems impossible, believe it is POSSIBLE, and seek GOD for the answer. Love, Jackie

Hear and Obey

He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." Luke 11:28 (NIV) May the Lord open our ears that we may hear His still small voice. In addition to hearing the word we are to be doers of the word. Hear and hearken onto the voice of the Lord. This honors God and gives us favor. Love, Jackie

The Most Important One

"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' " Mark 12:29-30 (NIV) How much time in energy do you put into loving the Lord your God? It is the greatest commandment of all. Make sure God is first in your heart.  May thoughts about our loving God occupy your mind more than anyone or anything else. Let your love for God be the driving force behind everything you do. May the love you have for our heavenly Father be a source of strength in your life.  Love, Jackie

Need a Doctor?

Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." Matthew 9:12 (NIV) Have you been injured in this battle of life? If you are suffering in any way, call on the Great Physician, Jesus. Unlike the HMO's, Doctor Jesus makes home visits and you do not have to wait weeks before He sees you. Lay on His altar and receive the healing you need. Love, Jackie

Touch Him

And wherever he went - into villages, towns or countryside - they placed the sick in marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed. Mark 6:56 (NIV) Jesus provides healing for all who touch Him. Reach out and touch the Lord to receive the healing you need - physical, spiritual or emotional. When you worship Him with all your heart you will contact Him and be made whole. Love, Jackie

More Than Enough

Jacob said, "Please. If you can find it in your heart to welcome me, accept these gifts. When I saw your face, it was as the face of God smiling on me. Accept the gifts I have brought for you. God has been good to me and I have more than enough." Jacob urged the gifts on him and Esau accepted. Genesis 33:10 (The Message) We serve a God of more than enough . Jacob, with the favor of God, had all he needed. When the other nations were experiencing famine, Joseph had more than enough in Egypt. Jesus fed five thousand with five loaves and two fish. After all ate and were satisfied, there were twelve baskets full of broken pieces of bread and fish left over. In the presence of the Lord, there is overflowing joy and peace. Jesus has more than enough love, grace and mercy for every person. May you always experience the abundant life we have in Jesus. Love, Jackie

"I Am Willing"

Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. Mark 1:41-42 (NIV) Jesus is full of compassion and He cares about you. He is always willing to heal the sick and make the brokenhearted whole again. He comforts those who grieve and covers troubled hearts with a blanket of His peace.  Love, Jackie

Spur One Another On

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) As we walk in love and perform acts of kindness, others may be inspired and do likewise. Encourage the people around you. Give them hope by speaking an uplifting word. Utilize every opportunity to do good for others. Today, consider how you may spur someone on to walk in love and do good deeds from the heart.  Love, Jackie

"Lord, help me!"

The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. Matthew 15:25 (NIV) The Canaanite woman humbled herself before the Lord and pleaded for help. As a result, her daughter was healed. When you need help (which is always), kneel down before the Lord and ask Him. James 4:2 says you do not have because you do not ask God. Love, Jackie

Out of the Mouth

"Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean." Matthew 15:17-18 (NIV) If you want to know what is in your heart, pay very close attention to the words that flow out of your mouth. Are your words kind, loving and compassionate? Or are you cursing, complaining and backbiting? May we continually speak the praises of our heavenly Father and bring glory to His kingdom in all we say and do. Love, Jackie

Why did you doubt?

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Matthew 14:29-31 (NIV) Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water until he began to look at his adverse circumstances, the wind. Once he took his eyes off of Jesus he was afraid and started to sink. If you doubt that God is working in your situation, you have been looking at the circumstances too long. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will lift you above the challenges that blow into your life. Love, Jackie

We Have the Secret

The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?" He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Matthew 13:10-11 (NIV) I am amazed at how much time and energy people spend running from one thing to another, looking for the secret formula to success. We are bombarded with information that promises to help us live longer, look younger and weigh less. God has given us the secrets to obtain health, wealth and happiness throughout His Word. Anything we attempt to do without God will not last. When searching for the answers to the challenges in your life, look in the Word and you will find the secret. Love, Jackie

The Soil was Shallow

"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow." Matthew 13:3-5 (NIV) When our main focus is on outer appearances rather than what is in the heart of a person, our ground may be a little shallow. If the balance of our bank account is more important than obeying God, we are standing on shallow ground. Concerns of this world are rocks that will stop God's Word from taking root in our hearts.  When loving God and loving our neighbors is our main concern, God's Word will fall on good soil, take root and bear good fruit. Ask God to remove any rocks hidden in your heart. Love, Jackie

Do You Believe?

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you"; and their sight was restored. Matthew 9:28-30 (NIV) Do you believe Jesus is able to take care of what concerns you? Jesus came to this earth, teaching, preaching and healing every disease and sickness (Matthew 9:35). He brought the dead back to life. He is able. Nothing is too difficult for our God to handle. Pray and ask God to forgive your unbelief. As Jesus told Thomas, "Stop doubting and believe." (John 20:27) Love, Jackie

If I Only Touch His Cloak

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed." Matthew 9:20-21 (NIV) Draw near to God. If we only get close enough to touch the edge of His garment we will receive the healing we need, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Sit and relax in His Presence. Enjoy the fellowship with our amazing and awesome God. He is so WONDERFUL. Love, Jackie

Why are you so afraid?

Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. Matthew 8:24-26 (NIV) Fear not. We are in the boat with Jesus and He is NOT asleep. He will completely calm the storms in your life. Love, Jackie

Not Everyone

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21 (NIV) For me some of the scariest words in the Bible are found in Matthew 7:23: "I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Jesus speaks these words to believers who were supposedly serving Him, yet He says they never knew Him. Let us not be deceived. We need to make sure the things we put all of our time and energy into are God's will and not our own. Even then, it is not wise to get so involved with our "stuff" that we forget to draw near to God and get to KNOW HIM more.

Be the Light

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14, 16 (NIV) Let your light shine before men. This dark world needs your light. I believe, our light shines the brightest when we walk in love with others, beginning with those in our own homes. Be a model your children can follow. Let your beams of light touch those on your job. If you are a little low on watts, hook up to the Source and let Him shine through you. Amen. Love, Jackie

God with Us

"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" - which means, God with us. Matthew 1:23 (NIV) No matter where we are, God is with us. We are never alone or destitute. When you get the results of that test in the doctor's office, He is with you. When you fall, He is there to catch you. In times of weakness, He is there to be your strength. Praise, Immanuel. Love, Jackie

Obedience from Suffering

Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him... Hebrews 5:8 (NIV) Jesus learned obedience from what he suffered and the result was eternal salvation for all who follow Him. May we learn to obey God in every challenge we face. God is faithful to work all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Love, Jackie

He Will Restore

Return to your fortress, O prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you. Zechariah 9:12 (NIV) The LORD is a God of restoration. He restores joy to those who sorrow. He repairs broken relationships. Once God restores something, the latter condition is better than the former. Praise the LORD. Love, Jackie

Free the Prisoners

As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.  Zechariah 9:11 (NIV) The LORD is a God of freedom. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). If you are held captive by fear, anger, depression or any addictive behavior, ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Jesus came to set the captives free. Glory Hallelujah! Live in the freedom of the LORD. Love, Jackie

Show Mercy and Compassion

"This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.' Zechariah 7:9-10 (NIV) Let us show mercy and compassion to our Christian brothers and sisters. We are all part of God's family. Forgive one another and turn the other cheek. Jesus said, all men would know that we are His disciples if we love one another. Instead of thinking evil of one another, may we think the best of fellow believers. Love, Jackie

An Undivided Heart

Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11 (NIV) A divided heart is torn between the things of this world and the things of God. Set your affection completely on the LORD, and put nothing before Him. May we be fully and deeply devoted to Him alone. Draw near to God with a sincere heart. Love, Jackie

God is With You

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:6 (NIV) God is with you and He is mighty to save you. He is able to deliver you from all your troubles. The LORD delights in you, His child. He carries you close to His chest and quiets you with His love. He rejoices over you. Praise the LORD! Love, Jackie

In the End

Now a man named Lazarus was sick.  When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." John 10:1, 4 (NIV) Jesus didn't say that Lazarus would not die. He said His sickness would not end in death. If you are involved in a life or death situation, remember, it will not end in death. Our great God has resurrection power. He gives new life to dead things. Maybe it is a relationship gone bad, a sickness or a situation you are in, or even the condition of your heart. Ask God to bring it back to life. Love, Jackie

A Faithful Man

I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many. Nehemiah 7:2 (KJV) God calls us to be faithful men and women. Faithful believers do not look at the circumstances; they rise above them. They keep their eyes focused on Jesus and their minds are at peace because they trust God and follow Him at all costs. Are you being faithful to do what God has called you to? Love, Jackie

In Times of Trouble

The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him... Nahum 1:7 (NIV) If you are having any kind of trouble, seek shelter in the LORD. He cares for you. Love, Jackie

He is Our Light

But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. Micah 7:7-8 (NIV) If you have fallen, God will pick you up. If you sit in darkness, draw near to the LORD. He is our light. There is no darkness in Him. Let us walk in the light and enjoy sweet fellowship with our Lord and Savior. Love, Jackie

"Yes, LORD"

The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai: "Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me." But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. Jonah 1:1-2 (NIV) Do you run away from the LORD when He sends His word to you?  Let us walk in obedience to the LORD, in full compliance with His will. As children of God the proper response to any direction our heavenly Father gives us is, "Yes, LORD." Remember, God is working for your good. Love, Jackie

He Will Repay

"I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten - the great locust and the young locust - the other locusts and the locust swarm - my great army that I sent among you." Joel 2:25 (NIV) Our God is a God of restoration. He gave Job double for his trouble. He will restore what the locusts have eaten out of your life. Where there is sickness, He brings healing. He turns our mourning into joy and our lack into abundance. Give glory to God. Love, Jackie

Rend Your Heart

Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Joel 2:13 (NIV) God wants our hearts, not some empty ritual like ripping your garments, an old Israelite practice. To put it in modern terms, He doesn't want shallow Sunday morning church attendance, after which He gets put on the shelf until the next week. Our loving God wants us to come to Him with our hearts open. He wants us to be real before Him and worship in truth and full of thanksgiving for His grace and compassion.  Humble your heart before the LORD today. Adore Him for who He is, the LORD our God, slow to anger and abounding in love. Love, Jackie

It is Time

Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 (NIV) Ecclesiastes 3 says there is a time for everything. Now is the perfect time to seek the LORD. We can approach the throne of grace 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We can enter the Most Holy Place and present ourselves at the foot of His altar and fellowship with the LORD God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. What liberty we have in Christ. May we take advantage of such a privilege and seek the LORD, first and foremost.  Love, Jackie

Depend on His Strength

But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors, the roar of battle will rise against your people... Hosea 10:13-14 (NIV) Let us learn a lesson from the Israelites. When we depend on our own strength or the strength of man, we are deceived and nothing good comes of it. Rely on the LORD. He is our strength. The battle is not ours, but God's and He has given us the victory. Hallelujah! Love, Jackie

Get Understanding

Though it cost all you have get understanding. Proverbs 4:7 (NIV) Consistently seek to gain an understanding of who the LORD is and what His will is for you. Hosea 4:14 says a people without understanding will come to ruin. Love, Jackie

Set Your Mind

"Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them." Daniel 10:12 (NIV) Like Daniel, we have to set our minds to gain a greater understanding of God. We must set our minds to humble ourselves before God. It is not something that is going to happen automatically. It is not something the flesh is going to naturally seek out. It is a decision, a deliberate, intentional act of our will to humbly seek God. Set your mind today to draw near to God in humility and with an open heart ready to learn what He reveals of Himself to you. Love, Jackie

Seek Favor

Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. Daniel 9:13 (NIV) If disaster is knocking at your door, seek the favor of the LORD. Give attention to His Word by obeying it and standing on His promises. Psalm 91:9 says, " if you make the Most High your dwelling - even the LORD, who is my refuge - then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent . " Love, Jackie

Asking God for Help

Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. Daniel 6:11 (NIV) Daniel got down on his knees and prayed three times a day and when the administrators tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel they were unable to do so. The only charge they could bring against him was that He prayed to his God.  How often do you pray and ask God for His help? God tells us to approach His throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). Ask God for help. He doesn't expect us to do it on our own. Love, Jackie

No Wound

The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:23 (NIV) Daniel was thrown into the den of lions because he refused to pray to any god except the LORD. Daniel trusted in God, and He shut the mouths of the lions. When we trust God, the devil who prowls around like a roaring lion is rendered powerless. Our God rescues and He saves. Keep trusting God. Love, Jackie

Give Thanks

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:4-5 (NIV) Let us give thanks to the LORD and praise His holy name. In His everlasting love He woke us up this morning and poured out new compassions on us. God is good all the time and faithful to fulfill all of His promises. Glory to God. Love, Jackie

God is Able

"If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." Daniel 3:17 (NIV) Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into a blazing furnace heated seven times hotter than usual. Not only did they come out unharmed, but the smell of fire wasn't even on them. The God we serve is more than able to do the same for you. If the flames of adversity are threatening to consume you, keep trusting in God and He will bring you through. Love, Jackie

They will Bear

Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Ezekiel 47:12 (NIV) This Scripture reminded me of how God wants us to bear fruit. Jesus is the Living Water and His water flows in us. We are to be like trees planted by the water yielding fruit (Psalm 1:3). We will not wither or be fruitless if we keep our roots steep in the Living Water.  Love, Jackie

Set Your Mind on Pilgrimage

Happy are those who are strong in the LORD, who set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs, where pools of blessing collect after the rains! Psalm 84:5-6 (NLT) Happy are those who draw their strength from the LORD and set their minds on finishing the course God has placed before them. No matter where our personal paths take us, we are on a journey and if we continue to walk with God, we will get through it. And our low valleys will become places where God pours out His blessings and refreshes us. Praise the LORD.   On the journey with Him, Love, Jackie

Forget Not

Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalm 103:2-5 (NIV) Let us remember all the wonderful benefits the LORD bestows upon us. He is forgiving and gracious. He heals all our diseases. He lifts us up out of the pits and puts us in heavenly places in Jesus Christ. He has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. Praise His holy name. Love, Jackie

There is a Season

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJ) May we embrace each season of our lives that God graciously gives us. He created the spring season with its new life and growth as well as the fall season with its maturity and wisdom. Recognize there is a God ordained time for every purpose on earth. God made Esther queen at just the right time to save the Jewish people. And at just the right time God sent His only Son to save a fallen world. God has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11, NKJ) . May you enjoy all the seasons of your life. Love, Jackie

Call All Day Long

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. Psalm 86:3-5 (NIV) Let us call to the Lord all day long because He is forgiving and He is good. His love flourishes upon all who call to Him. His ear is always open to our cries and He is faithful to answer each one. Love, Jackie

Favor and Honor

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Psalm 84:11 (NIV) As we continually walk according to God's will, we can be confident that no good thing will be withheld from us. He will give us favor and honor. He will open doors for us that no man can shut. Those who walk with God will be respected in their families, on their jobs and in their communities. Praise the LORD! I encourage you to keep your walk on the straight and narrow path that leads to life. Live your life within the margins. Love, Jackie

It Is Good

Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. Psalm 73:27-28 (NIV) It is good to be near God. In His presence there is fullness of joy. As long as we dwell near Him, we are under the mighty arm of God and His protection. When we are near Him, peace floods our souls and His marvelous love fills our spirits. The Presence of God breaks through confusion and brings clarity. When we are by His side, He can chase away all sickness and pain, sorrow and grief. Close to Him is where I want to be every moment of every day. Love, Jackie

The Strength of My Heart

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26 (NIV) When our flesh fails us and our hearts grow weak, God is our strength. I have not been feeling well since last Wednesday morning when I started having muscle spasms in my upper back and then I caught a cold in addition. But God sent me this word this morning to remind me that even though my flesh is failing, He will always be my strength and my portion. Let us thank God for every day He gives us on this earth. Love, Jackie

He Will Restore

Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. Psalm 71:20 (NIV) Even though you may face many bitter trials in this life, rest assured, God will restore your life. He will refresh your weary soul. No matter how far down you go, He will raise you up. Amen. Love,  Jackie

He Has Listened

God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! Psalm 66:19-20 (NIV) Sometimes when we disappoint people, they may withhold their love as a form of punishment. Husbands call this being "in the dog house." But one thing we can really rejoice about is that God never withdraws His love from us. And He never closes his ear to our prayer. God pours His love out on us every day. Make sure you get under the spout. Love, Jackie

Through Fire and Water

You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. Psalm 66:12 (NIV) God doesn't say we will never have trials but He does promise to bring us through them. When the flames of adversity are burning all around you, remember God will provide a way of escape. When stormy floodwaters threaten to drown you, the hand of God will be there to pull you out. He will bring you to a place of abundant peace and joy.

Delight in God's Law

So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind... Romans 7:21-23 (NIV) Be on the alert, we are in a war. Fight the good fight of faith. Evil with its temptations is always lurking about. We consistently have to choose to follow God and delight in doing His will.  Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory in Jesus Christ. Love, Jackie

My Soul Finds Rest

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2 (NIV) May your soul rest in God alone. As you rest in Him, He will refresh your weary mind and renew your frazzled emotions. As you rest in God, you are more likely to let go of what you want and pursue the will of God for your life. When we stop fighting against God, our souls will truly rest in Him. Love, Jackie

Lead Me to the Rock

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. Psalm 61:2-3 (NIV) The LORD is our rock and we can take refuge in Him. It is wise to build the foundation of our lives on the rock. He is strong and will not be moved. In Him we have victory against our enemy. Love, Jackie

What He Wills

Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. " Abba , Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." Mark 14:35-36 (NIV) Our Christian walk always boils down to obedience. To claim being a Christian is supposed to mean we are consistently growing to be more and more like Him everyday. Jesus was obedient to the Father in all ways, even to the point of death. In the process of writing my second book I often struggle with three simple little words of direction I received from God, "Tell your story."  Almost every time He puts something on my heart to include, something which I have conveniently forgotten, I go through this tug-of-war moment because it is something I would rather leave out. This morning I said to God, "This is hard." And He reminded me obedience wasn't easy for Jesus. Why should it be easy for me? So I en

Live a Life of Love

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV) Imitate God and live a life of love. God showed His love by sending His only Son to die for our sins. Jesus loved us and gave His life to save us. Love is characterized by giving and serving, by putting the needs of others before your own, by sacrifice. May we always walk in love with those God has placed in our lives.   Love, Jackie

Patient in Affliction

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12 (NIV) Believers are to be patient in affliction. We are to persevere through the struggles we face without complaining or murmuring. The Word tells us the trials we go through on this earth are light and momentary. Let us wait patiently for the deliverance of the LORD and while we wait, praise Him. In peace and patience, Love, Jackie

Cast Your Cares

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. Psalm 55:22 (NIV) Whatever concerns you have weighing heavy on your heart were not meant for you to hang on to. The LORD wants you to cast all your cares on Him. Put your burdens in the hand of the LORD and trust Him to take care of them. Instead of worrying, thank God for the victory in that situation. Love, Jackie

I Would Fly Away

I said, "Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest - I would flee far away and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm." Psalm 55:6-8 (NIV) Can you relate to the above words of King David? I have been there. Thank God, we have a place to go when our desire is to flee far away. We can run into the shelter of the Most High God. We can dwell in the shadow of His wings. He is our hiding place. Love, Jackie

Seek the LORD

God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand any who seek God. Psalm 53: 2 (NIV) The LORD says when we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him. Let us earnestly seek the LORD while He may be found. His eyes continually search the earth to strengthen the hearts that are fully committed to Him. Love, Jackie

Arrogant Men

When Jeremiah finished telling the people all the words of the LORD their God - everything the LORD had sent him to tell them - . . . all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, "You are lying!" Jeremiah 43:1-2 (NIV) Arrogant men find all kinds of excuses for not following the words of the LORD. May we accept the Word of God as the only truth we need and apply it to every area of our lives. Let us not be puffed up with pride and think we know better than God for one second. Instead, draw near to God with a humble heart and stand on His Word which will last forever. Standing on His Word, Love, Jackie

All Planned Out

"I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message) Our awesome God has a wonderful plan for your life. No matter what has happened in your past, He can use it for good. He will never abandon you, but will take care of you through each and every trial. God has your life all planned out. When things happen in your life that you don't understand, just trust in His plan. He knows what He is doing. Love, Jackie

Our Guide

For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end. Psalm 48:14 (NIV) God leads His people today, just as He led the Israelites in the desert for forty years. His Holy Spirit who dwells in us, directs us in the way we should go. He will show us the way in every situation. When you don't know what to do, seek the LORD, our guide even to the end. Love, Jackie

Nothing Too Hard

"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." Jeremiah 32:17 (NIV) Nothing is too hard for our great God. Know that God is bigger than your mortgage/rent payment, the strife in your marriage relationship, wayward children, family rifts, the difficulties you are experiencing on your job or with your business, etc. Whatever it is our Heavenly Father can handle it. Keep your eyes on God and rely on Him. In His Care, Love, Jackie

Life to the Full

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10 (NIV) Jesus came that we may have a full, well-rounded life, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, financially and physically. He gives us overflowing joy, peace, and love. If we are not living an abundant life we are allowing the enemy to steal, kill and destroy what has been provided for us. May we stand on the Word and hold onto the promises of God instead of believing the lies of the enemy. Every time we believe his lies, he is robbing us.   Love,  Jackie

Be Still

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10 (NIV) Let us put our mind and bodies at ease and adore God, the King of all the earth, who is clothed in majesty and power. All of creation speaks of His glory. Praise His holy name. He is exalted above all. May you be still long enough to enjoy His Presence today. Love, Jackie

Lack No Good Thing

Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Psalm 34:9-10 (NIV) When we sincerely seek the LORD, we shall not be found lacking anything good. He freely gives us every good and perfect gift.  And the most valuable gift of all is the ability to fellowship with Him in this life and for eternity. In the Presence of the LORD there is fullness of all that we need. Love, Jackie

The Mighty One

The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. Psalm 50:1 (NIV) God is still impressing upon my heart, what a mighty God He is. How important it is for us to know the God we serve. Nothing can stand in His way. He speaks a word and it is done. If we, as believers doubt and worry about anything, we have forgotten the power of Almighty God and all the marvelous and miraculous deeds He has performed. Take some time today to sit in His Presence and meditate on the awesome nature of our wonderful God. In Awe, Love, Jackie
