Take Off the Grave Clothes
Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” —John 11:43-44 (NIV)
Are you still wrapped up in worldly ways? Lay aside the ways of this world. God's ways are higher. Offer yourselves to God as people who have come back from death and are now alive (Romans 6:13). As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:12-14).
