Be Captivated by Christ

Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” —Daniel 3:16-18 (NASB1995)

Our attitude and mindset should be similar to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego before they were thrown into the fiery furnace. Know that our God is able to deliver us. Let us trust Yahweh to deliver us from all of our fiery furnace experiences. And no matter what happens, do not serve or compromise with the principles of this world, nor follow the traditions of men. See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. (Colossians 2:8 NASB1995) May we be captivated by Christ, and set our affections and hope on Him.
