Faith Under Pressure

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. —James 1:2-4 (MSG)

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you. (1 Peter 4:12 AMP). And don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let patience have its perfect work. Abraham and Sarah waited for many years for the fulfillment of God’s promise and in Genesis 21:2, Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. God has is a set time for you too. When you are pressured by troubles on all sides, know that God is working for your good. While you patiently wait, be on a continual pursuit for His Presence.
