Receive the Word

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. —Acts 17:11 (NKJV)

May we, like the people of Berea, be open-minded to receive the Word with great eagerness, and examine the Scriptures daily. The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). The entrance of His Word gives light and understanding (Psalm 119:130). It strengthens us, and comforts us in any affliction. The Word of God gives us life (Psalm 119:50). His Word is settled in heaven and endures to all generations. His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). May we delight ourselves in the Word of God.
