Greater Love

“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” —John 15:12-13 (NLT)

The Message Bible says it this way: “This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends.” (John 15:12-13 MSG). The best way for us to love each other is the way Jesus loved us. His love is unconditional and it never fails. His love never runs out on us. Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. (Galatians 6:1 NLT). It’s love that will lead one to repent, not condemnation.

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. (Psalm 86:5 NIV)
