Call on His Name

The LORD descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the LORD. Then the LORD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; —Exodus 34:5-7a (NASB1995)

Call on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. His ear is always open to hear the cry of His people. (See Psalm 18:6 & 34:17) Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called on His name; They called upon the LORD and He answered them. (Psalm 99:6 NASB1995) His name alone is exalted. You must not misuse the name of the LORD your God… (See Exodus 20:7)

Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. (Psalm 105:1, 3 NASB1995) And in that day you will say, “Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted.” (Isaiah 12:4 NASB1995) And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be delivered; (See Joel 2:32)

Be Captivated by Christ
