Come Near

Then He said to Moses, “Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel, and you shall worship at a distance. Moses alone, however, shall come near to the LORD, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him.” —Exodus 24:1-2 (NASB1995)

The Israelites had to worship God at a distance. Only Moses was allowed approach the LORD. Today, we have the extreme privilege and honor to have a close, intimate relationship with YAHWEH. Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people]. (James 4:8 AMP)
