What are you wearing?

Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”John 11:43-44 (NKJV)

After we have been transferred from the domain of darkness and death to the kingdom of light and life, we are to be loosed from the graveclothes and be clothed in garments that belong to the Kingdom of God. For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (Romans 6:4 NLT) He gives us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that we may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3)

Put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:24) Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. (Colossians 3:12 NLT) Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. (Colossians 3:14 NLT)
