“Can these bones live?”

Then He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “Lord God, You Yourself know.” —Ezekiel 37:3 (NASB)

The Spirit of the LORD led Ezekiel to a valley filled with dead bones. Ezekiel 37:2 says they were completely dried out. Then the LORD said to Ezekiel, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the LORD!'” (Ezekiel 37:4) The first step in going from death to life is to LISTEN to the Word of the LORD.

In Ezekiel 37:7 Ezekiel spoke the message, just as the LORD told him. Suddenly as He spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons. In Ezekiel 37:10 Ezekiel spoke the message as the LORD commanded him, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—a great army. May we listen to and speak the powerful, living Word of God over dead relationships and dead situations in our lives. Elohim, our all-powerful God, is able to breathe life into that which is dead. Amen.

Be Captivated by Christ
