Highest Honor

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. —Philippians 2:9-10 (NLT)

Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (See Revelation 22:13 NKJV) He was in the beginning with God. (See John 1:1-2) His name is above every other name. Revelation 19:16 (NASB1995) says: And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

In John 19:30, when Jesus said, “It is finished!” He meant it. He did everything necessary to pay the debt of our sin and restore us back into fellowship with our heavenly Father. Christ has been raised from the dead and seated in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. (See Ephesians 1:20) And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. (John 17:3) May all we do and say bring glory and honor to His name.

Be Captivated by Christ
