New Life

For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. —Romans 6:4 (NLT)

Followers of Christ are empowered to walk in the freshness of new life, and live in union with Jesus. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. (Romans 6:7-8 NLT) So don’t you see that we don’t owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent. There’s nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! (Romans 8:12-14 MSG)

…let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. —Ephesians 4:23-24 (NLT)
