Prepare the People

“And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.” —Luke 1:16-17 (NLT)

An angel of the Lord spoke these words to Zechariah, regarding his son, John the Baptist. John did not give in to the cultural norms of his day. Instead, he was filled with the Holy Spirit. May we be like John the Baptist and go in the Spirit and power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus to point the people of this generation to our coming King. Let our lives exemplify God’s wisdom, grace and truth.

…you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. (2 Timothy 4:5 NLT) We overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony, and because we do not love our life even when faced with death. (See Revelation 12:11)

Be Captivated by Christ
