Come Out!

The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. —John 15:19 (NLT)

Jesus chose us and called us to come out of the world. Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. (1 John 2:15-16 NLT)

In John 17:15, Jesus did not ask the Father to take His disciples out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. As believers, we live in this world, but the world is not to live inside of us. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit (See Ephesians 5:18) We are not to be under the sway and influence of this world, but to influence the world for the Kingdom of God. Amen.
