Be Active

You, therefore, will be perfect [growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character, actively integrating godly values into your daily life], as your heavenly Father is perfect. —Matthew 5:48 (AMP)

We are to actively participate in our growth toward maturity. Meditate on the Word day and night. Renew your mind (focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes), so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (See Romans 12:2 NASB/AMP)

May we strip off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, and let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focus our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith. (See Hebrews 12:1-2 AMP) He Who began a good work in us is faithful to complete it. Amen.
