Through Fire & Flood

Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. …We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. —Psalm 65:8-9,12 (NLT)

Just as He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the fiery furnace, the God Most High will be with you. (See Daniel 3:24-26) The fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke! (See Daniel 3:27) In Isaiah 43:2 (NLT), the LORD says: “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Hallelujah! 

The two main points are that Yahweh is with you, and He will bring you through. It’s not about what you go through. We all go through something, and sooner or later it does come to pass. The more significant aspect is WHO is with you to bring you through to the other side: El Olam (the everlasting God), Elohim (the all-powerful One). Amen.

Be Captivated by Christ

Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” — Daniel 3:16-18 (NASB1995) Our attitude and mindset should be similar to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego before they were thrown into the fiery furnace.
