Wisdom & Understanding

“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.’” —Job 28:28 (NASB1995)

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. (Proverbs 3:7 NLT) The reverent fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. (See Psalm 111:10) Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7 NKJV) Proverbs 1:7 says: …fools despise wisdom and instruction. Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. (See Proverbs 4:6 NLT) ...wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short. (Proverbs 24:14 NLT) But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5 NASB1995)

Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. —Proverbs 3:13 (NLT)
