Be a Friend

When Job's three friends... heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.
Job 2:11 (NIV)

Job's three friends came to him when they heard about his troubles. When they saw Job from a distance they weeped aloud. Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how greatly he suffered (Job 2:13).

May we have compassion, and comfort others as they go through difficulties. Sometimes, no words are necessary, just the presence of a friendly face and a hand to hold. Let us be like Jesus, who is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Love,
Jackie
