Choose the Good Part

But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” —Luke 10:41-42 (NASB1995)

Luke 10:40 says, Martha was distracted with all her preparations. Have you let earthly concerns distract you from sitting at the Lord’s feet and listening to His Word? Instead of being anxious and upset, prepare your heart and mind to be still and listen to the Lord and enjoy His Presence, every day. If you are worried and bothered about so many things, cast all your cares on the Lord and let His Spirit guide you through this day. Trust God. Whatever He has purposed for you to accomplish today has already been written in His Book. Therefore, the time to do it has already been allotted. Choose the good part, to sit at His feet (humility) and actively listen (be attentive) to His still small voice.

In Luke 10:40 Martha asked: “Lord, do You not care…?” Know that Jesus cares about you and is always taking care of you.
