The Light of the World

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” —John 8:12 (NASB1995)

In John 9:5, Yeshua said: “While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” As Followers of Christ, we too are the light of the world. A city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. (See Matthew 5:14)  ...you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), (Ephesians 5:8-9). May we let His light shine brightly through us and draw others closer to Him. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. (John 3:19 NASB1995) But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:8 NLT)
