The Soil was Shallow

"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow."
Matthew 13:3-5 (NIV)

When our main focus is on outer appearances rather than what is in the heart of a person, our ground may be a little shallow. If the balance of our bank account is more important than obeying God, we are standing on shallow ground. Concerns of this world are rocks that will stop God's Word from taking root in our hearts.

When loving God and loving our neighbors is our main concern, God's Word will fall on good soil, take root and bear good fruit. Ask God to remove any rocks hidden in your heart.

Love,
Jackie
