How Do You Smell?
What fragrance are you releasing? The world or the flesh (pride, arrogance and selfishness)? Believers are to be a pleasing aroma to God. We are a life-giving perfume, as we follow the example of Christ. Children of God are to walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved us and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God, a sweet fragrance. ...thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life.
