Stay Alert!

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” —Job 1:6-7 NASB)

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NLT) In Matthew 26:41 (NASB), Yeshua says: “Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” We need to remain diligent and recognize the sign of the times. Our enemy is always looking to steal and kill and destroy. (See John 10:10a) In order to combat his lies, we need to know the truth and continually renew our minds with the Word of God.

…put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (Ephesians 6:13 NLT) Put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the gospel of peace. Take up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (See Ephesians 6:14-17)

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. —Ephesians 6:10 (AMP)
