The Good Work

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. —Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

The Word says that God began “the” good work in you. It’s not just any good work. It is the specific work that YAHWEH determined to do in you from the very beginning. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) says: For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Thank YAHWEH that it’s His plans and purpose for us that will prevail, and not the enemy’s.

I like that Philippians 1:6 says, God will continue His work. The work is His. As long as we live, He is at work in us. Stay submitted to His will and the good work, He is doing in you and He is faithful to complete it. He never gives up on us. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. (Philippians 2:13 NLT) The good work is within us. So that doesn't mean that everything that happens in our lives is going to be good. However, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (See Romans 8:28)
