The Word Works

Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe. —1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NLT)

Let us be like the believers in Thessalonica, and accept the message about Jesus, that is contained in the Holy Scriptures, as the very Word of God. In 1 Thessalonians 1:3, the Apostle Paul mentions their work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. As we treasure and store His Word in our hearts, that we may not sin against Him. (See Psalm 119:11 AMP), let it also energize us onto faithful work and loving deeds. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.(Philippians 1:6 NLT)

May the God of peace equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. (See Hebrews 13:20-21 NLT)
