Called to Peace

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].Colossians 3:15 (AMP)

If children of God are called to live in peace, why do so many let the enemy keep them anxious and stressed out, or have relationships that continually involve strife? Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT) says: Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. He has given us His peace. In John 14:27 (NASB1995) Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 TPT)

And remember, we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (See Ephesians 6:12 NLT)
