Our Sun & Shield

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You! —Psalms 84:11-12 (NASB1995)

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light… (See Isaiah 9:2 NKJV) God is the fountain of life, the light by which we see. (Psalms 36:9 NLT) The light of the LORD illuminates our darkness. His light reveals truth and shows us the way we are to go. “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1 NASB1995) The LORD is our help and a protective shield around us. (See Psalms 3:3, 33:20) He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (See Proverbs 30:5 NKJV) 

“...to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.” —Malachi 4:2 (NKJV)
