Stay Alert!

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. —1 Peter 5:8 (NASB1995)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. (See John 10:10a) It is just as the LORD said to Cain, in Genesis 4:6-7, “Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. (Romans 6:14 NLT) Yeshua came that we may have life, and have it abundantly. (See John 10:10b) So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. (James 4:7-8 NLT) And a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. (See James 1:8)
