Better Than Life

O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! —Psalm 63:1-3 (NLT)

Life on this earth is temporary and fleeting, but the unfailing love of the Most High will last forever. (See Psalm 89:2) His unfailing love fills the earth and is higher than the heavens. (See Psalms 119:64 & 108:4) In spite of all our mess ups, His unfailing love still stands. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39 NLT) May we show the same constant and relentless love to everyone God brings our way.
