Why Despair?

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. —Psalm 42:11 (NASB1995)

We get overwhelmed and discouraged when we try to carry and fix our problems and/or the troubles of this world. Give all your anxieties, worries and concerns to God. What is a boulder on our backs is a pebble in His hand. Psalm 68:19 says: Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. Selah. (NASB1995) Do not lean on your own understanding. Instead, trust in the LORD with all your heart. (See Proverbs 3:5) For His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. (See Isaiah 55:9)

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. —2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NLT)
