Continue to Follow

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. —Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT)

Just as we received Jesus our Lord and Savior with great joy and full of faith, let us continue to walk in union with Him, to the end. May we reflect His character in the things we do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin (See Colossians 2:6 AMP) Instead of conforming to the ways of this world, build your life on Him, and let Him shape your life. As we become more deeply rooted in Jesus, the Living Word, our faith will grow stronger and stronger. And may our hearts always overflow with thankfulness to God.

We do not want to be like the person who hears the Word and receives it on rocky soil.  He has no firm root so when affliction arises he immediately falls away. Don't be the one who received the Word among thorns. This person let the worries of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the Word out of them. (See Matthew 13:20-22)

Be Captivated by Christ
