Cry Out

As Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. And he called out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”Luke 18:35, 38-39 (NASB1995)

Jesus stopped and commanded that the man be brought to Him. Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. When he came near, Jesus asked him: “What do you want Me to do for you?” And he said, “Lord, I want to regain my sight!” Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God. (See Mark 10:50, Luke 18:40-43)

When others want us to be silent, believers must continue to cry out all the more. Do not be quiet. Come near and call upon Yeshua. Let us have an open heart to receive all He wants to give. And may we have the same response to anything God does in our lives, which is to follow Yeshua and glorify God.

“…will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?” Luke 18:7 (NASB1995)
