Spread it Before the LORD

And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. Then Hezekiah prayed to the LORD…Isaiah 37:14-15 (NKJV)

After Hezekiah received word of the threats of his enemy (See Isaiah 36:13-20 & 37:10-13), he took it to the LORD. When you are assaulted with lies and threats from the enemy, turn to Yahweh. Our enemy is the father of lies (see John 8:44), therefore all the words that he speaks are lies. Do not be anxious or fearful. Put your trust in the God Most High. Like Hezekiah, acknowledge that Yahweh alone is enthroned above the cherubim. He is the God of all earthly kingdoms and Creator of heaven and earth. (See Isaiah 37:16) He is able to deliver us from the hand of our enemies, just as He delivered Hezekiah and the city of Judah. Isaiah 37:36-37 says, the angel of the LORD struck 185,000 in the enemy’s camp, and when the surviving men arose early in the morning, all these were dead, so the king of Assyria departed and returned home. Our victory is in the LORD our God. Amen.
