"Well Done!"

“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’”Matthew 25:20-21 (NKJV)

When we come to the end of our race, I believe we all want to hear Jesus say: “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Therefore, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance and active persistence the race God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

In this parable that Jesus told, the lord said the same thing to the servant who made 2 talents, as he did to the servant who earned 5 more talents. Our Lord desires for us to use the talents He has given us. We do not want to be like the third servant who because of fear, buried his talent in the ground. The lord in this parable called him a wicked and lazy servant. (See Matthew 25:25-26) So, continue to fight the good fight, finish the race, and remain faithful to Jesus all of your days. (See 2 Timothy 4:7 NLT)
