More with Us

Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”2 Kings 6:15 (NASB1995)

The King of Aram had sent a great army by night to surround the city. However, Elisha said to his servant, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:16-17 NASB1995)

When it seems as though you are surrounded by the enemy, may your eyes be opened to see that there are more on our side than theirs. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. (Psalm 125:2 NASB1995) Psalm 5:12 says, the LORD surrounds the righteous with favor as with a shield. We overcome them, because greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. (See 1 John 4:4) Amen. And Hallelujah!
