Live in the Light

Image
This is the mess age we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; — 1 John 1:5-6 (NASB1995) The LORD is God, and He has given us light [illuminating us with His grace and freedom and joy]. (Psalms 118:27a AMP) “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and dense gloom the peoples; But Yahweh will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you. (Isaiah 60:1-2 LSB) Who is among you that fears Yahweh, that listens to the voice of His Servant, that walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and rely on his God. (Isaiah 50:10 LSB) May we continually live in the Light.

His Purpose Prevails

His father and mother objected. “Isn’t there even one woman in our tribe or among all the Israelites you could marry?” they asked. “Why must you go to the pagan Philistines to find a wife?” But Samson told his father, “Get her for me! She looks good to me.” His father and mother didn’t realize the LORD was at work in this, creating an opportunity to work against the Philistines, who ruled over Israel at that time. — Judges 14:3-4 (NLT) Samson was disobeying Yahweh’s instructions not to intermarry with the nations He was driving out of the land before the Israelites. (See Deuteronomy 7:1-3) But God had a plan to use Samson’s disobedience to bring about His will.  Sometimes we cannot see how God is working, but let us confidently believe that He is always working for our good. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. (See Isaiah 55:9) May we trust God and continue to follow the lead of His Holy Spir...

Looks Good? Beware!

Then his father and his mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she looks good to me.” — Judges 14:3 (NASB1995) Everything that looks good to us, is not necessarily good for us. Genesis 3:6 says: Eve saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, and we see the result of that situation. O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! (Psalm 34:8) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. (1 John 2:16) Therefore, Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus and run  with endurance the race that is set before us.  May we profess, as King David did in Psalm 101:3 (...

What Are You Looking At?

Image
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. — Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV) Don’t stay glued to the constantly negative news, or continually monitor the ever-changing world conditions. Don't focus on material possessions, the stock market, or the balance of your bank account. These things which we can see are temporary. So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable. (2 Corinthians 4:18 AMP) Fix your eyes on Yeshua, our Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace (See Isaiah 9:6) He is Immanuel (God with us). (See Isaiah 7:14) He is the Lamb who has overcome this world. He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and...

Stay Awake

Don’t set the affections of your heart on this world or in loving the things of the world. The love of the Father and the love of the world are incompatible. For all that the world can offer us—the gratification of our flesh, the allurement of the things of the world, and the obsession with status and importance —none of these things come from the Father but from the world. — 1 John 2:15-16 (TPT) The book of Judges gives us the account of Samson. He fell in love with a woman named Delilah. (Judges 16:4 NLT) Her intention was to bring Samson down. After Delilah constantly nagged him, Samson told her the secret of his strength. (Judges 16:16-17)  In Judges 16:19-20, Delilah lulled Samson to sleep with his head in her lap, and had his hair shaved. In this way she began to bring him down, and his strength left him. When he woke up, Samson thought, “I will do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him. Today, our heavenly Father has promised to never ...

Say "Yes"

Image
Yeshua is the name of Jesus in Hebrew. As I wrote His name this morning, the first 3 letters stood out and I began to reflect on all Yeshua said “yes” to. He said yes to leaving the glory of heaven to being born in a manager. He said yes to live in a sinless life, in a human body.  Jesus said yes to the restoration of all who were brought to Him. Matthew 15:30 (NASB) says, large crowds came to Him bringing with them those who were limping, had impaired limbs, were blind, or were unable to speak, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them. Jesus accepts all who come to Him.  He said yes to being stripped, beaten and spit upon. Yes, to shedding His blood, being nailed to a cross and giving His life to restore humanity to a relationship with our Heavenly Father. When the time came, He was risen and gained victory of death, the devil, and sin. Glory hallelujah to our risen Savior! Say “yes” to Him each and every day. Let us be faithful men and women w...
