“Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life. (Revelation 22:17 NLT) He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20 NLT)

All of this is a gift from our Creator God, who has pursued us and brought us into a restored and healthy relationship with Him through the Anointed. And He has given us the same mission, the ministry of reconciliation, to bring others back to Him. It is central to our good news that God was in the Anointed making things right between Himself and the world. This means He does not hold their sins against them. But it also means He charges us to proclaim the message that heals and restores our broken relationships with God and each other. — 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (VOICE) If we want our horizontal relationships with other people (spouse, siblings, extended family members, friends, co-workers, etc) to be healthy and harmonious, we must get the one vertical, foundational relationship with God in alignment first. If someone claims, “I love God,” but hates his brother or sister, then he is a liar. Anyone who does not love a brother or sister, whom he has seen, cannot possibly love God, whom he...

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, — Philippians 3:13 (NLT) Forget what lies behind and look forward to what lies ahead. Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. (See Hebrews 12:1-2) Amen.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. — Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT) Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NASB1995) says: He has made everything appropriate in its time. Everything that we experienced in 2022 may not have appeared beautiful to us, with our limited human perspective. But we can know in our hearts that it was appropriate because it happened according to the time set by our heavenly Father, Who had all our days written in His book, before we drew a single breath. (See Psalm 139:16) For now, all that we know is partial and incomplete. (See 1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT) This year may not have brought all that you had hoped for, but remember that everything happens at His appointed time. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying and praising and honoring God with a loud voice; and he lay face downward at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him [over and over]. He was a Samaritan. — Luke 17:15-16 (AMP) As Jesus entered a village there were ten men with leprosy, crying out, “ Jesus, Master, have mercy on us! ” (See Luke 17:12-13 NLT) He healed all ten, but only one returned to Jesus to give thanks. Be the one who gives glory to God for all that He has done. As you reflect on all that has happened this year, remember to give glory to God. He has shown Himself faithful over and over again. Whatever you faced this year, He was faithful to bring you through it. You are still here. God has good plans and a wonderful purpose for you to fulfill. Kneel at the feet of Jesus, full of gratitude. Glorify God with a loud voice. We cannot thank Him enough, for all the wonderful blessings He has bestowed upon us moment by moment, day after day, and month after month.

Not that I have already obtained it [this goal of being Christlike] or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that [perfection] for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own. — Philippians 3:12 (AMP) Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14 AMP) Instead of dwelling on the loss and disappointments of 2020, look forward to 2021 with a living hope and expectation of what our great God will do and is doing right now. We must hold on to the progress we have already made (See Philippians 3:16 NLT), and press on to perfection. Press on to maturity (See Hebrews 6:1) Let’s press on to know the LORD!  (See Hosea 6:3) Press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize.

This is what the Eternal One says, the One who does the impossible, the One who makes a path through the sea, a smooth road through tumultuous waters, — Isaiah 43:16 (VOICE) “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” — Isaiah 43:18-19 (MSG) With our great and awesome God, all things are possible. Where there appears to be no way, He will make a way. Forget what lies behind and reach forward to what lies ahead. (Philippians 3:13) May we be alert to what God is doing and wanting us to do, in this present moment. When they were safely out of the city, one of the angels ordered, “Run for your lives! And don’t look back or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away!” — Genesis 19:17 (NLT) Lot’s wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26) Don’t Look Back! Instead of dwelling on past mistakes and regrets, let’s actively press on to what God has for us today. If you are going through a valley, don’t stop! Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us (Hebrews 12:1 NLT). Keep moving forward with your eyes on Jesus. In Luke 9:62 (MSG), Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.”

Commit your works to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. — Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) Whatever goals or plans you have made for the coming new year, may you submit them to the LORD. Then, let us remember not to run off and do our own thing and end up turning to Him to fix a mess. Instead, continually seek the LORD and ask for His help and guidance along the way. We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps (Proverbs 16:9 NLT). Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails (Proverbs 19:21 NIV).

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. — John 19:30 (NKJV) When Jesus said, “It is finished!” it was a done deal. As Jesus bowed His head on that cross, all things were accomplished —our healing, our victory. Through His sacrifice we received everything we will ever need. What freedom we can experience when we really understand that it is already done. With this realization, we can stay in His perfect peace and fullness of joy. All of our days are already written in God's book. Instead of victims we are victors, more than conquerors. We just have to walk in the steps Jesus already mapped out for us. Everything else that happens in this life is just a sideshow distraction to get us off the path God has for us. Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. — Psalm 66:5 (NKJV) See His mighty arms that carry you through each trial and temptation. He has your name tattooed on His hand. You are the apple of His eyes and they sparkle with love for you. See His ears; they are always listening for the cry of your voice. Notice the smile on His face because the LORD takes pleasure in His people (Psalm 149:4). His heart beats with compassion for all people —the weary, the downtrodden, the lost, the found, the confused and the crazy. Now take a closer look. He is right there, beside you, ready to show you the wonderful things He is going to do in your life in the coming year. Put your hand in His and let Him lead the way.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. 
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! — Proverbs 3:5-8 (MSG) In our hearts, we may make our plans, but remember, it is the LORD who establishes and directs our steps. (Proverbs 16:9) In the coming year, may we listen for God’s voice and follow through with the action He is calling us to take. Not our will, but His be done. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than our ways, and His thoughts than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  — James 4:8 (NKJV) As we make our New Year resolutions and set our goals for the coming year,  may pursuing the peaceful, yet powerful Presence of Almighty God be our number one priority. To know our heavenly Father and stay connected to Him, is truly our primary purpose. Allow the fullness of His Spirit, and the abundance of His love to fill your empty, broken places. Intimacy, let our wonderful Creator see into you and shape you into the unique, marvelous creation you were meant to be. He will perfect all that concerns you (Psalm 138:8). Amen.

It’s not that I’ve already reached the goal or have already completed the course. But I run to win that which Jesus Christ has already won for me. Brothers and sisters, I can’t consider myself a winner yet. This is what I do: I don’t look back, I lengthen my stride, and I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God’s heavenly call offers in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14 (GW) Congratulations! You may have overcome many obstacles this year, but the important thing is that you persevered and made it through. Praise the Lord! As we look forward to the New Year, may we resolve to get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. Let us run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up (Hebrews 12:1, GW). Run straight toward your goals, jump over any hurdles and keep your eyes on JESUS. Run to win! Complete the course!

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Hold onto what you learned and let go of all the disappointments. We don't want to carry any old, heavy baggage into the new year. In case you haven't noticed, God is always up to something. Our walk with God is never boring because there is always an adventure on the horizon.
