For every soldier called to active duty must divorce himself from the distractions of this world so that he may fully satisfy the one who chose him. — 2 Timothy 2:4 (TPT) Let us divorce ourselves from the distractions of this world. We do not belong to the world. (John 17:14) We have been called out of darkness into His wonderful light, so we can show others the goodness of God (1 Peter 2:9 NLT). Let us proclaim the excellencies of the Most High God. We were called to active duty, not to passively sit by the wayside and be a spectator. We are a chosen people, chosen to actively and passionately serve the LORD. May we fully satisfy the One Who called us. I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible. — 1 Corinthians 7:35 (NLT)

“ How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. ” — 1 Kings 18:21 (ESV) As long as we are torn between following the LORD or following the things of this world, we are limping, unable to walk and run as God intended. The Message Bible says: “How long are you going to sit on the fence?” Sitting on the fence is painful. Choose today, to follow the LORD. He formed your inward parts and knit you together in your mother's womb. (Psalm 139:13) He has all the days ordained for you written in His book (Psalm 139:16). Choose to follow the LORD our God, He is the One who goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:16) Follow the LORD, who demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.  — Hebrews 4:12 (NASB) It's not enough to know the Word of God. We benefit most when we know how to use it. God's Word is a love letter to His children. It's an instruction manual for a successful and prosperous life. Open it up and let it speak to you. God's Word is alive and active. It goes where it needs to go and it does not return to Him void. It's a healing balm that soothes the brokenhearted and strengthens the weary. It brings healing to the bones. Confront the lies of the enemy by speaking His Word out of your mouth. His Word cuts as you speak it out, in the face of the devil's lies. Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the LORD rescues him from them all. — Psalm 34:19 (AMP) In this world, you will have trouble. (John 16:33). There will be circumstances that we just don't understand. However, our consolation is knowing that the LORD will deliver us out of them all. With God on our side, no one can stand against us. Nothing is too difficult for our mighty God. Troubles will come and troubles will go, but through it all let us continue to seek the LORD. When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.” Psalm 27:8 (NKJV)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. — Romans 12:1 (NKJV) In view of all the mercies and compassions of God, the Apostle Paul pleads with believers to make a decisive dedication of their bodies to God. Let us serve and worship our God, in this manner of being fully committed, —giving our all to accomplish His purpose in our lives. This Memorial Day, may we honor all of the military men and women, past and present, who daily sacrifice their lives in service to our country. Whether it was giving your lives on the battlefield, suffering wounds and injuries or sacrificing precious time away from your loved ones for training and deployments, we “ Thank You ” for all you do to ensure our freedom and safety.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. — Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) God knows us better than we know ourselves. We cannot fool Him. He searches our minds and our hearts (Revelation 2:23). He knows what we are going to say before we even utter a word (Psalm 139:4). Be open and honest with your heavenly Father. Rid yourself of anything that offends Him and follow Him. The LORD will make known to you the path of life; He will fill you with joy in His presence, with eternal pleasures at His right hand (Psalm 16:11 NIV).

You will keep him in perfect peace, w hose mind is stayed on You, b ecause he trusts in You.  — Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) The LORD is our shelter from the storms of life. When the harsh winds of adversity blow and the floodwaters rise, He is our protection. Our heavenly Father is a place of peace. He will calm the storm of anxiety and fear within, and lead you to green pastures and still waters. Trust in and fix your thoughts on the LORD and He will keep you in perfect peace, even in the midst of the storm.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.  — Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) No matter how dark the valley, we can keep on walking and eventually come out on the other side. We have no need to fear because our heavenly Father is with us. He protects us and guides us along on the path of life. The LORD will keep us in perfect peace as our minds are stayed upon Him (Isaiah 26:3). Rejoice that the Presence of the LORD is with you!

Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God hadn't been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, "I'm slipping, I'm falling," your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up. Psalm 94:16-19 (The Message) Always remember, God is there for you. God said, "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you," (Isaiah 43:2, NLT). The love of God holds you close. He will soothe your soul and fill you with His joy and peace.

For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy in his dwelling place. 1 Chronicles 16:26-27 (NIV) Worship the true and living God, maker of heaven and earth, with all your heart. He is adorned in glory, splendor and majesty. In His dwelling place you will find everlasting strength and overflowing joy.

On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but now the tables were turned and the Jews got the upper hand over those who hated them. Esther 9:1 (NIV) The decree had been issued in the name of the king and sealed with his own ring to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews. All appeared hopeless. However, God turned the tables and gave His people victory of their enemies. When circumstances in your life threaten to destroy you keep looking to God to give you the upper hand.
