Manna for Your Morning

Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah: “When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.” But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too.” — Exodus 1:15-17 (NLT) It is better to fear God rather than man. “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25 NKJV) So God was good to the midwives, and the Israelites continued to multiply, growing more and more powerful. Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here [in the wilderness] remained alive after seeing Him [who sees me with understanding and compassion]?” — Genesis 16:13 (AMP) The Angel of the LORD found Hagar, Sarai’s maid, by a spring of water in the wilderness. She had run away because of the harsh treatment she was receiving from Sarai. He instructed her to go back and submit to her authority. Then the Angel of the LORD said to her, “I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.” He also told her to name the son she was carrying Ishmael, because the LORD has heard her affliction. Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the LORD, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” — Genesis 16:13 (NLT) The LORD is El-Roi, “ The God Who Sees Me .” Our heavenly Father is always with us. Be reassured, that He has not forgotten about you, or your situation. In fact, His thoughts of you outnumber the grains of sand. (See Psalm 139:17-18 NLT) The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry. (Psalm 34:15 NASB1995) He examines our hearts and knows everything about us. He knows when we sit down and when we rise. He knows our thoughts and is intimately acquainted with all of our ways. (See Psalm 139:1-3) He goes before us, and makes a way for us. He also follows behind us. He places His hand of blessing on our heads. (See Psalm 139:5 NLT & Isaiah 43:16) Amen and hallelujah!

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. — Isaiah 40:29-31 (NLT) When King David was down and out, he found strength in the LORD his God. (See 1 Samuel 30:6) We find new strength as we trust in YAHWEH, not in our own human abilities. Let us do what the LORD told Gideon in Judges 6:14, go with the strength we have. Then trust Him to fill in for what is lacking. The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. (2 Chronicles 16:9a NLT) Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him. (1 Chronicles 16:11) And rely on the power of His strength, in every situation and circumstance. But then I realize that our true help and protection is only from the Lord, our Creator… (Psalm 121:1-2 TPT) Keep your eyes on the Lord, and do not be distracted or dismayed by the events taking place around you. Put your hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. (See Psalm 33:20 NLT)  Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. (Psalm 37:5 NLT) For everyone who knows your wonderful name keeps putting their trust in you. They can count on you for help no matter what. O Lord, you will never, no never, neglect those who come to you. — Psalm 9:10 (TPT)

But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. — Genesis 50:19-20 (NLT) God will use what the enemy intends to harm you with, to bring about good. …we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) He will turn your mourning into joyful dancing. He will take away your clothes of mourning and clothe you with joy. (See Psalm 30:11 NLT) That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. — Psalm 30:12  (AMP)

Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.   — Romans 13:14 (NLT) Every morning we get up, we choose what clothes to wear on our physical body. However, let us also choose to spiritually clothe ourselves with the presence of the Lord. The Passion Translation says to fully immerse yourselves into the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One… (Romans 13:14a) In other words, think His thoughts, speak His Word and do things His way. Instead of putting on the ways of this world or following the desires of our flesh, may we reflect the character and nature of our loving heavenly Father. Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.   — Colossians 3:12 (NLT)

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  — Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) First, we need to have our ears open to hear His voice. Then, we can respond by opening the door of our hearts. How? By opening our mouths and asking Jesus to come in. By having the attitude, that He is welcome to stay, and enter each room. Let His marvelous light flood the dark crevices of your heart. Once He comes in, then let us take the time to dine with Him. May we feast on His Presence. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. (Psalm 34:8a) He has a banquet already prepared for us. Instead of fear and anxiety, there is a platter of perfect peace. There are bowls of joy. In exchange for bitterness and unforgiveness, there is sweet compassion, and amazing grace. Instead of resentment, we have contentment in His Presence, as we dine with the King of kings.

…in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. — Ephesians 6:16 (NASB) In addition to all the other weapons of our warfare, let us hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. No matter what the enemy brings your way, remember that He who resides in you, is greater than the one in the world. For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]— (2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP) Jesus has already overcome the world. “ If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. ” (Mark 9:23) “ Do not be afraid any longer, only believe. ” (Mark 5:36 NASB)

And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. — Jeremiah 18:4 (NKJV)  It’s not so much about being perfect as it is about being teachable and remaining on God’s wheel so He can mold us into the person He created us to be. When life events cause our vessels to be cracked and broken, our story is not over. God is not finished with us yet. Not only will He will make us new, He is also able to use us in whatever condition we are in. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves (2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT).

And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?” — Luke 24:38 (NKJV) Doubt and fear are tools of the enemy. Why let yourself be troubled when we have the greater One living inside of us? God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1 NLT). Believe with your mind and know in your heart, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. (John 6:69) The King of kings and the Lord above all. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1 NKJV)  “…in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. — Psalm 30:5 (NKJV) To everything there is a season. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4). However, God turns our mourning into dancing; He puts off our sackcloth and clothes us with gladness (Psalm 30:11). Despite the seasons of our lives, the LORD, our faithful and mighty God extends His favor to us for a lifetime. We may have to endure some weeping for a night, but praise God, joy comes in the morning. Glory hallelujah!

And Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come near to me.” So they came near. Then he said: “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. — Genesis 45:4-5 (NKJV) What Joseph’s brothers meant for evil, God used for good and the saving of many lives (Genesis 50:20). Isaiah 54:17 says, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. The Word doesn't say the weapon would not be formed, just that it will not prosper. Do not be surprised at the fiery ordeals that come (1 Peter 4:12), just keep trusting God to work it all together for good.

This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.  — Psalm 119:50 (NKJV) When the enemy tries to drown us in the sea of affliction, the Word of the LORD is our comfort. “I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, and He answered me.” (Jonah 2:2) His wonderful promises preserves our lives. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but we can be strong and take heart because the LORD delivers us out of them all! (Psalm 34:19)

So, my dear Christian friends, companions in following this call to the heights, take a good hard look at Jesus. He's the centerpiece of everything we believe, faithful in everything God gave him to do.  Hebrews 3:1-2 (The Message) Let us fix our thoughts on Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession. He is the centerpiece of everything and the chief cornerstone. Let your life come together around Jesus, our Lord and Savior. He is a sure foundation, faithful in all God gave Him. And He calls us friends! May we follow our heavenly calling.

O Lord, I am calling to you. Please hurry! Listen when I cry to you for help! Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering. Psalm 141:1-2 (NLT) Are you calling upon the LORD? He promises that when we call to Him, He will answer and show us great and mighty things, which we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). Pour your heart out to our heavenly Father. If you have a concern, it matters to Him. Your prayers go up before God as incense. Raise your hands and surrender to Him, the most precious offering: your heart.

But while Joseph was there in the prison, the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. Genesis 39:20-22 (NIV) Joseph was thrown in prison because his master's wife falsely accused of him of attempted rape. However, in the midst of his trials, the LORD was with Joseph and gave him favor. Genesis 39:23 says, t he warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did." No matter where the winds of adversity may take you, God is with you and He will give you success. Even if you are, emotionally or physically, shut up in a prison cell today, like Joseph, you can still experience victory in the midst of your trials. No wall is high enough to shut out God's love. "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you...' " Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and cruel bondage. Exodus 6:6, 9 (NIV) Moses tried to give the Israelites an encouraging message from the LORD but they were so discouraged they did not listen.  Who are you listening to today? The news reporters? CNN?
