Love Never Fails

Image
“ Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. ” — Matthew 24:12 (NLT) A quick glimpse of the nightly news will give evidence to the words Yeshua spoke in Matthew 24:12. As those who have been clothed with garments of salvation and wrapped with a robe of righteousness, let us work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.  (See Isaiah 61:10 NASB1995 & Hebrews 12:14 NLT) The greatest of all commandments is to love God and to love our neighbor. (See Matthew 22:37-39) In John 13:34-35, Yeshua says: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Yeshua also instructs His followers to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, so that we may be sons of our Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the rig...

Be Committed

Image
“ I know your works. You are neither cold with apathy nor hot with passion. It would be better if you were one or the other, but you are neither. So because you are lukewarm, neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. You claim, ‘I am rich, I have accumulated riches, and I need nothing’; but you do not realize that you are miserable, pathetic, poor, blind, and naked. ” — Revelation 3:15-17 (VOICE) “Those I love I also correct and discipline. Therefore, be shamelessly committed to Me, and turn back. Now pay attention; I am standing at the door and knocking. If any of you hear My voice and open the door, then I will come in to visit with you and to share a meal at your table, and you will be with Me.” (Revelation 3:19-20 (VOICE) “ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ” — Revelation 3:22 (NASB)

Be on Fire!

Image
Do not slack in your faithfulness and hard work. Let your spirit be on fire, bubbling up and boiling over, as you serve the Lord. Do not forget to rejoice, for hope is always just around the corner. Hold up through the hard times that are coming, and devote yourselves to prayer.  — Romans 12:11-12 (VOICE) Revelation 3:15-16 (NLT) says, “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” May we be hot with passion for God and His Kingdom. Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder . — Romans 12:11-12 (MSG)

A Spirit of Love

Image
As Jesus taught His disciples about the signs of end times, He said: “ Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. ” — Matthew 24:12 (NLT) Needless to say, the signs of end times are upon us, but we are here for such a time as this. I implore you —don’t let your love for God or your love for people grow cold. According to 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) God gave us a spirit of love... Let us be like our heavenly Father. What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! (1 John 3:1 MSG) He keeps His covenant and shows unfailing love to all who walk before Him in wholehearted devotion. (1 Kings 8:23) First Peter 1:22 instructs the brethren to love one another fervently with a pure heart. The Message Bible says to love one another as if your lives depended on it. Keep the embers of your love on fire by abiding in the Presence of Almighty God, for love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:8). Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone w...

Stone or Flesh?

Image
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. — Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) The New Living Translation says: “… I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. ” (Ezekiel 36:26b) Is your heart tender and responsive to God? If you have a stony heart, let the gentle hands of our heavenly Father remove it and replace it with a heart of flesh. The heart of stone is cold and hard, nothing can get into it and nothing can get out. It is prideful and stubborn (wants its own way). It holds on to grudges and offense. A stony heart does not know God and turns away from Him. The heart of flesh has the blood of Jesus running through it, constantly giving it newness of life. It is set on fire by the embers of His love. The heart of flesh is humble and willing to forgive. It is wise and seeks understanding. The heart of flesh is a believing heart. It knows God and believe...

A Growing Love

Image
But I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me]. — Revelation 2:4 (AMP) When Jesus spoke about end times, in Matthew 24:12, He said, the love of many will grow cold. May your love for Christ grow deeper and stronger each day. Let your love for Him be hot, passionate and actively growing. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. (Ephesians 3:17-18 NLT) Just as Christ's love for us caused Him to respond by giving His life to save us. Let us respond to His love by giving our lives and hearts to Him.

He Knows

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” — Revelation 3:15-16 (NKJV) We can fool some of the people some of the time, but we can never pull a fast one on God. He knows everything we do. For the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. (1 Chronicles 28:9b NIV). Serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind (1 Chronicles 28:9a). Lukewarmness comes when our desires are split. We want to walk in God's way and enjoy the benefits of living in His kingdom, but half of the time we take a detour and allow ourselves to get caught up in the world and it's ways. No one can serve two masters; (Matthew 6:24). Don’t leave a bad taste in the mouth of God. Let ALL you do and say give glory to His kingdom. Be on fire for God, consistently doing the right things with pure motives and a clear conscien...

Wanted: Loyal Hearts

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.  — 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV) God is always looking for people who are fully committed to Him. He doesn't want lukewarm, middle of the road believers. Revelation 3:16 says, “because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth (Revelation 3:15-16). Let us be on fire for the LORD and passionate about fulfilling His purpose in our lives. Amen!

Be on Fire!

I know what you have done, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. But since you are lukewarm and not hot or cold, I’m going to spit you out of my mouth. — Revelation 3:15-16 (GW) Being lukewarm is being double-minded, wavering between God and the world. It starts with following Jesus, at a distance, like Peter did in Luke 22:54. Let us stay close to Jesus and keep a fire in our hearts burning for Him. Never let it go out.
