Wait & Listen

…Yahweh was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but Yahweh was not in the earthquake. Then after the earthquake a fire, but Yahweh was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a thin gentle whisper. — 1 Kings 19:11-12 (LSB) The winds of adversity will come and go. Your world may get shaken and you may go through some fiery trials, but don’t draw back or give up. Lift up your prayer to Yahweh and then take the time to listen for His still small voice. Sometimes our lives are too busy and too noisy, to hear His voice. Clear your mind of all clutter. If our minds are filled with anxiety, worry, or fear, it makes it difficult to hear the gentle whisper of our heavenly Father. Let the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (See Philippians 4:7), as you listen for His word to come to you. Ears to Hear

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. — 1 Kings 19:11-12 (NKJV) When there is a ripping, and a breaking in your life, remember that God is not in the earthquake, the fire, or the flood. Don’t let the noise of earthly events drown out the sound of His still small voice. After the fire, listen for the sound of a gentle whisper saying, “I love you. I’m going to take care of you. Trust Me, I got you.” He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Tune In

After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. — 1 Kings 19:11-12 (NIV) The winds of adversity may blow, your world may get shaken, and you may lose some stuff in the fire, but the LORD is with you and He will see you through. Even in the wind, the earthquake and the fire, God is speaking. If you cannot hear the voice of God, get tuned in to His station. As we offer ourselves to Him, with thankful hearts, and mouths full of praises and prayers, our ears are able to hear His still small voice. He will comfort you with His love and lead you along on the path of life.
