“How Often Should I Forgive?”

Image
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” — Matthew 18:21-22 (NLT) Yeshua says, the second greatest commandment is equally important as the first: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].” (See Matthew 22:39 NLT & AMP) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT) May you forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart, and keep no account of a wrong suffered. First Corinthians 13:5 (VOICE) simply says: Love doesn’t tally wrongs. “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. — Matthew 6:14-15 (NLT)

He Intercedes for Us

Image
Who is the one who condemns us? Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us. — Romans 8:34 (AMP) Satan is an accuser of the brethren. Revelation 12:10 (NASB) says, he accuses them before our God day and night. However, we have a mediator. Jesus… because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is also able to save forever those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (See Hebrews 7:24-25 NASB) Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. (John 8:1 NASB) Hallelujah! Come to Abba Father through our mediator: Jesus the Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. (See John 14:6) Amen.

Show Me

Image
Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. — Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT) We don’t have to try to figure everything out on our own. The LORD is faithful to show us the right way. His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. (See Psalms 119:105)  Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. (Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP) And don’t think you can decide on your own what is right and what is wrong. Respect the Eternal; turn and run from evil. (Proverbs 3:7 VOICE) Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with...

Able & Willing

Image
Jesus looked at them and replied, “With people it is impossible, but not with God—God makes all things possible!” — Mark 10:27 (TPT) You can stand with man and be disappointed or you can believe God. Our mighty God is able and willing. Why, then, O Jacob’s tribes, would you ever complain? And my chosen Israel, why would you say, “Yahweh isn’t paying attention to my situation. He has lost all interest in what happens to me.” Don’t you know? Haven’t you been listening? Yahweh is the one and only everlasting God, the Creator of all you can see and imagine! He never gets weary or worn out. His intelligence is unlimited; he is never puzzled over what to do! (Isaiah 40:27-28 TPT) When the situation  appears  impossible, trust in Elohim, the all-powerful One. Nothing is too difficult for Him. He is more than able and willing to handle your concerns.

God is with Us

Image
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; — Luke 1:31-32 (NASB) Isaiah 7:14 (NLT) says: All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). No matter what you are going through, or what this day may bring forth, remember that God is with us. And victory belongs to the LORD. (See Proverbs 21:31) The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! — Exodus 15:2 (NLT)

Take Refuge

Image
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. — Psalm 36:7-9 (NASB) Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. (Psalm 63:7 NLT) You’ve always given me breathing room, a place to get away from it all, a lifetime pass to your safe-house, an open invitation as your guest. (Psalm 61:3-4 MSG) We have an open invitation to abide in the shadow of His wings, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! — Psalm 34:8  (NASB)

Hear & be Healed

Image
However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. — Luke 5:15  (NKJV) In Luke 5:1, the multitude pressed about Jesus to hear the word of God. May we not draw back but press in to hear His Word. A touch from Jesus, the Living Word, brings healing and wholeness. In Luke 5:12, a man full of leprosy saw Jesus, fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “ Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean .” Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “ I am willing; be cleansed. ” Immediately the leprosy left him. (Luke 5:13) Know that Jesus is able and willing to meet your need today.

Build on the Firm Foundation

Image
You can’t find firm footing in a swamp, but life rooted in God stands firm. — Proverbs 12:3 (MSG) Why live in Camp Swampee, when you can dwell on the firm foundation? It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. (Luke 6:48 NLT) Let us build our lives rooted in God. The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you [setting you on a firm foundation] and will protect and guard you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3 AMP) The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. (Hebrews 11:1 MSG)

Awake & Aware

Image
Delilah lulled Samson to sleep with his head in her lap, and then she called in a man to shave off the seven locks of his hair. In this way she began to bring him down, and his strength left him. — Judges 16:19 (NLT) In Judges 16:20, Samson didn’t even realize the LORD had left him. As children of God we need to be awake and aware. If we allow the things of this world to lull us to sleep we will find ourselves in a spiritual stupor and we will be powerless when the enemy comes to bring us down. May we be completely devoted to God, treasure His Word (our sword) in our hearts and speak it out of our mouths. But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! (Romans 13:11-12 MSG) Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dres...

Under the Mighty Hand of God

Image
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, — 1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV) How do we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God? By acknowledging that He is our Creator and everything we have accomplished in this world is because of Him and His grace and mercy. For in Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). By recognizing that without Him, we have nothing of any value. We humble ourselves under His mighty hand, when we fill our mouths with thanksgiving to God and our hearts with grateful appreciation for ALL He has done and is doing in our lives. We humble ourselves when we stop trying to force our way and surrender all we do and say to His will and His ways (unconditional love and kindness). We are under His mighty hand, when we resort to His Word for answers instead of the world. Our heavenly Father knows best. He sees the whole picture from beginning to end. So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s str...

Sacrifices in Abundance

Image
The next day they offered sacrifices and burnt offerings to the Lord…and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel. — 1 Chronicles 29:21 (AMP) In today’s culture of convenience and entitlement, most of us rarely entertain the notion of giving sacrificially, giving of our time, our treasures and our talents, until it hurts. Sacrifice is the act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy. What are you willing to offer to God as a sacrifice today, for the sake of His Kingdom? May we freely sacrifice to the LORD in abundance. Let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name (Hebrews 13:15). Psalm 27:6 tells us to offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle. Psalm 51:17 says God will not despise, the sacrifices of a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart. And then, Romans 12:1 tells us to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy, acceptable to God. Amen!

Always Give Thanks!

My daughter sent me this powerful question that she was asked at a church service this weekend: What if you awoke this morning and all you had were the things you thanked God for yesterday? It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; (Psalm 92:1). And forget not all His benefits (Psalm 103:2)! . . .giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, — Ephesians 5:20 (NKJV)

Seek Him with All Your Heart!

How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it]. With my whole heart have I sought You, inquiring for and of You and yearning for You; Oh, let me not wander or step aside [either in ignorance or willfully] from Your commandments.  — Psalm 119:9-10 (AMP) Let us keep watch on ourselves and conform our lives to the Living Word, Jesus Christ and His ways. May the yearning of your heart be for more of His Presence, in your life. Certainly you have tasted that the Lord is good (1 Peter 2:3)!

Faithful Forever

Blessed are those who receive help from the God of Jacob. Their hope rests on the LORD their God, who made heaven, earth, the sea, and everything in them. The LORD remains faithful forever. Psalm 146:5-6 (GW) We are so blessed to have the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth as our helper. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit (Psalm 147:5). Hang your hope on the LORD. Our heavenly Father is forever faithful. Amen.

Let Go

Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down. Psalm 55:22 (NCV) Give your worries to God. Let go of them and really trust the Lord to work it all together for good. Our heavenly Father is faithful. No matter how bleak the situation may appear, He will take care of you.

The Friend

"I'm telling you these things while I'm still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I'm leaving you well and whole. That's my parting gift to you. Peace. I don't leave you the way you're used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don't be upset. Don't be distraught. John 14:25-27 (The Message) Before going back to the Father, Jesus told His believer's not to be troubled or afraid. He didn't abandon us, as orphans. The Father sent the Holy Spirit to be with us. He is our Friend, Counselor and Helper. He is the Spirit of truth, who dwells in us and teaches us everything. We have peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Love, Jackie

Need a Doctor?

Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." Matthew 9:12 (NIV) Have you been injured in this battle of life? If you are suffering in any way, call on the Great Physician, Jesus. Unlike the HMO's, Doctor Jesus makes home visits and you do not have to wait weeks before He sees you. Lay on His altar and receive the healing you need. Love, Jackie
