Manna for Your Morning

“ Do not call to mind the former things, or consider things of the past. Behold, I am going to do something new, now it will spring up; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. ”  — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NASB) In Isaiah 42:9 (NKJV), God the LORD says: “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” If we stay focused on our past, we might miss the new things Yahweh is doing in our midst. Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Patient endurance is what we need. In the time of adversity, when it seems you are being tested in the fiery furnace of affliction, earnestly seek Yahweh. He is our strength and our fortress, our refuge in the day of affliction. Like Joseph, let us forget all of our past troubles. Let go of any resentment, unforgiveness and bitterness. You will not get very far before you crash. Instead, keep reaching forward to what lies ahead. Press on toward the goal, to finish the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
