Keep Coming Closer

Image
“ But I’ll keep coming closer and closer to you, Lord YAHWEH, for your name is good to me. I’ll keep telling the world of your awesome works, my faithful and glorious God! ” — Psalms 73:28 (TPT) In Isaiah 29:13 (NASB1995), the Lord said, “…this people draw near with their words and honor Me with their lip service, but they remove their Ghearts far from Me, and their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote…” Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. (See Hebrews 10:22 NASB1995) “Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting.” James (Jacob) 4:8 (TPT) But as for me, it is good for me to draw near to God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge and placed my trust in Him, that I may tell of all Your works. — Psalms 73:28 (AMP)

His Purpose Prevails

Image
Then Job answered Yahweh and said, “I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.” — Job 42:1-2 (LSB) In Daniel 5:18—21 (NKJV), Daniel said to king Belshazzar, “O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom and majesty, glory and honor. And because of the majesty that He gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. ...But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him. Then he was driven from the sons of men, his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and appoints over it whomever He chooses.” (See Daniel 5:18—21 NKJV) Know that our great God rules. Instead of being puffed up with pride, keep a humble heart before Yahweh...

Restoration

Image
When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before! So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. — Job 42:10, 12 (NASB1995) When Job took his eyes off of himself, and prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. May we bless those who curse us, and pray for those who mistreat us. (See Luke 6:28 NASB1995) “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you for your offenses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your offenses.”] (Mark 11:25-26 NASB)  In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm...

GOD of Restoration

Image
You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again. — Psalm 71:20-21 (NLT) Job lost all his children, his possessions, and experienced pain and suffering in his physical body, yet he continued to worship YAHWEH. In all of this he did not sin by blaming God. (See Job 1:22)  In Job 42:10, the LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. (AMP)  In Joel 2:25 (NKJV) the LORD says: “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust... He gives His people beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. (See Isaiah 61:3 NKJV) Psalm 23:3 (NASB1995) says, He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’...

Cast Your Burden

Image
Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. — Psalm 55:22 (NASB1995) Release all of your burdens to the Lord. We get overwhelmed and tired when we try to carry them. Trust the Lord to take care of you and all that concerns you. Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. Selah. (Psalm 68:19 NASB1995) He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31 NLT) Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude — Psalm 68:19 (NLT)

Choose to Rejoice

Image
Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive fails and the fields produce no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the LORD; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! — Habakkuk 3:17-18 (AMP) When circumstances appear dismal and all seems hopeless, choose to rejoice in our great God. He is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. The One who brought water out of the rock, is our Source. The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet and makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. (Habakkuk 3:19 AMP)

Victory Abiding

Image
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] — John 16:33 (AMP) No matter how circumstances may appear today, we have the victory today ! In Christ, we are more than conquerors. What we must realize in the dark valleys, is that Jesus has already given us the victory. We just need to keep moving forward, and we will make it to the glorious mountaintop moments. Yet I am so thankful to God, who always marches us to victory under the banner of the Anointed One; and through us He spreads the beautiful fragrance of His knowledge to every corner of the earth. (2 Corinthians 2:14 VOICE)

Take a Long Loving Look

Image
“Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.” — Psalm 46:10 (MSG) Step away from the business of life, with its many distractions and take a long loving look at our mighty, awesome God. Adore Him. He is above politics, sports, and doctor reports. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. (Colossians 2:10 MSG)  Let us look only to Jesus, the Champion who initiates and perfects our faith (Hebrews 12:2) Look up to Him, from whom our help comes.

Praise & be Raised

Image
Do all things without complaining and disputing, — Philippians 2:14 (NKJV) Numbers 11:1 says, when the people complained, it displeased the LORD. May we not grumble or complain. The Amplified Bible says, do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], (Philippians 2:14). Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! (Philippians 2:14 MSG) When we complain we remain, when we praise, we get raised (Joyce Meyer). May His praise continually flow from our lips, in all situations.

Find Rest

Image
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. — Psalm 23:1-3 (NLT) Realize that the LORD alone is God. He made us, and we are his. We are his people and the sheep in his care (Psalm 100:3 GW). He carries the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. (Isaiah 40:11) We can rest, knowing that as our Shepherd, the LORD provides all that we need. He is our guide to keep us on the paths of righteousness. He protects us from the enemy. As we rest in Him, He refreshes and restores our souls. In Matthew 11:29, Jesus said when we take His yoke upon ourselves and learn from Him, we would find rest for our souls. Find rest today.

Your Heart, His Home!

Image
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. — Luke 24:1 (NIV) The women prepared spices and fragrant oils for the body of Christ. Jesus is the Bridegroom and we, the church, are His bride. Every bride prepares herself for her groom. Are you preparing your heart, as a home for Jesus? Open the door of your heart and let His grace and mercy flood every room. Continual housecleaning is needed, to make sure it does not become cluttered with unforgiveness and bitterness. Toss out the rubbish of offense and envy. Let Christ occupy every area. Allow Him to fill the chambers of your heart with His love and His light, until it overflows and radiates out of the windows and onto those around you. When He resides in your heart, joy and peace fill the atmosphere, and compassion and kindness adorn the walls. Make your heart, a pleasant place for Christ to reside. Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and conti...

Dwell in His House

Image
LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells. — Psalm 26:8 (NKJV) In the secret place where the glory of the LORD dwells, there is everlasting life, abiding peace and an extravagant love that never ends. In His Presence, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. His marvelous light shines brightly, in His holy habitation. It illuminates our darkness and guides us along on the path of life. One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple (Psalm 27:4).

Prosper in Prison?

The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper. — Genesis 39:23 (NKJV) Joseph was sold as slave by his brothers and eventually thrown into prison based on a false accusation. Joseph did all the right things but still finds himself in prison. The most important thing is that God was with Joseph and He had a plan for his life that was very good. Things may not always appear to be working in your favor, but the LORD is with you too and He has a wonderful plan for your life as well.

Claim Your Healing!

He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!  — Psalm 107:20-21 (NKJV) Don't claim your sickness. Claim your healing! God sent Jesus, the Living Word, and by His stripes we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).  Proverbs 4:21-22 instructs us to pay attention to the words of wisdom because they are life to those who find them and they heal the whole body. Jesus is the Great Physician, His Words are wisdom. He heals ALL our diseases (Psalm 103:3)! In Jeremiah 30:17, the LORD says, ‘I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.’ Praise the Lord for His wonderful works!

Walk Together with God

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?  Amos 3:3 (NKJV) Can two walk together without first agreeing on the direction? Let us come into agreement and submit to God's will, in all we do and everywhere we go. Instead of leaning on your own understanding, trust the LORD with all your heart, and walk together with Him. Put your hand in His and let Him show you which path to take.

A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NIV) Once again, a welcomed visit has come to an end and it is time to say, "good-bye." It's a time of sadness and weeping. As my heavy heart aches because of the love I have for my daughter and my desire to have her near, I am reminded of the immense love God has for us, His dearly beloved children and how much He wants...

This Same God

At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:18-19 (NLT) This same God who generously took care of the Apostle Paul, will amply supply all your needs, in every area of life. The Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is Jehovah-Jireh, God, the Provider. He foresees each and every one of your needs. Nothing catches Him by surprise. The earth and all it contains belong to Him (Psalm 50:12). Fear not, He has already made a way for you. Amen. Love, Jackie

Worship at All Times

And Jacob said to Pharaoh, "The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers." Genesis 47:9 (NIV) Even though Jacob felt his life had been difficult he didn't let that stop him from worshiping God. When Jacob was 147 years old, Genesis 47:31 says he worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff. May we worship God all the days of our lives, whether they be difficult or easy. Love, Jackie
