No Excuse

Image
But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. — Romans 1:18-20 (NLT) Romans 1:21 says: Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. (Romans 1:25) Let us worship Yahweh, the living God, in spirit and truth. (See John 4:24) We demonstrate that God’s law is written in our hearts, for our own conscience and thoughts e...

Live by Faith

Image
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” — Romans 1:16-17 (NKJV) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NASB1995) Let us live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself up for us. (See Galatians 2:20)  May we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]— (See 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP)  Habakkuk 2:4 (AMP) says: the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God]. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who draws near to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 LSB) Test and evaluate yourselves t...

No Condemnation

Image
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. — Romans 8:1-2 (NKJV) There is a sure way for us to know that we belong to the truth. (Our actions will show that we belong to the truth.) Even though our inner thoughts may condemn us with storms of guilt and constant reminders of our failures, we can know in our hearts that in His presence God Himself is greater than any accusation. He knows all things. (1 John 3:19-20 VOICE/NLT)  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) …having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, (See Acts 17:30 NASB1995). Let the kindness of God lead you to repentance. (See Romans 2:4) Then, be led by the Holy S...

“Who do you say that I am?”

Image
And it happened that while He was praying alone, the disciples were with Him, and He questioned them, saying, “Who do the people say that I am?” — Luke 9:18 (NASB1995) First Jesus asked His disciples “ Who do the people say that I am? ” Then, He asked them: “But who do you say that I am?” (See Luke 9:20) We can listen to what others say about Jesus, but it is a matter of life and death, for us to know Who He is for ourselves, to have that one-to-One, intimate relationship with Him. Peter answered and said He is “The Christ of God.” Luke 9:56 says, He is the Son of Man who did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. In John 4:25-26, He is the Messiah, who is called Christ. In John 1:29, He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! In John 10:7, He is the Door (or gate) for the sheep leading to life. In John 10:11, Jesus is the good Shepherd, Who gives His life for the sheep. In Job 19:25, He is the living Redeemer, Who will take His stand on the earth. In John 1...

Our Safe Place

Image
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies. — Psalm 18:2-3 (NLT) Abide in God and call upon His name. He is our place of safety. God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? (Psalm 18:30-31 NLT) He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. (Psalm 18:16 NLT) The LORD lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted! — Psalm 18:46 (NLT)

ENDURE

Image
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be]. — 1 Peter 5:10 (AMP) We will endure some light momentary affliction and times of trouble, however, God will restore us, support us, and give us strength. He will place us on a firm foundation and build us up. Our heavenly Father blesses us with His favor and has called us to His everlasting presence through Jesus, the Anointed One. He endured the cross, disregarded its shame and is now seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. “... In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. ” — John 16:33 (NKJV)

Called into His Light

Image
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; — 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) You were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light. (Ephesians 5:8 NASB) We have been called into His marvelous light. Now we are light. As children of God, let us live above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we appear as lights in the world of darkness. (Philippians 2:15) How do we shine? We shine as we share the love, kindness, and grace of Jesus Christ. We shine has we exude the peace and joy, that He has given to us. As we proclaim His praises, we shine. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

He Cares

Image
casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. — 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) The worries of this world will choke the living Word right out of you and replace it with anxiety and fear. Instead, cast all your cares on the Lord. Don't believe the lies of the enemy, our heavenly Father deeply cares about you. No parent wants to see their child struggle under the weight of a heavy burden they were never meant to carry. In Hebrews 2:6 (AMP), the LORD is asked, “What is man, that You are mindful of him, or the son of man, that You graciously care for him?” His thoughts about you are more than can be numbered (Psalm 40:5). Cast all your cares on the LORD and know that He will take care of you.

He is Mindful of You

Image
“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” — Revelation 4:11 (NLT) It was God’s will to create you. You are not a mistake or a piece of junk; those are lies of the enemy. It pleased God to create you. He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). In him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ (Acts 17:28 NLT), Psalm 8:4 says, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Never think for one minute that God has forgotten about you. He loves you and you are always on His mind.

The LORD is in This Place

Image
When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” — Genesis 28:11-16 (NIV) May we always be fully aware of the presence of the LORD, our God. In His presence, the rejected are accepted, chosen and cherished. He turns our mourning into dancing. He puts off sackcloth and clothes us with gladness (Psalm 30:11). In His presence, darkness and fear are exchanged for light and love. He hides us in the secret place of His presence from the plots of man (Psalm 31:20 NKJV). Whatever challenges you face today, remember, the LORD is in that place with you. And with Him, we receive the power and strength to live a victorious life.

“Rejoice, highly favored one!”

And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” — Luke 1:28 (NKJV) We are highly favored and blessed because the Lord is with us. He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases. He redeems our lives from the pit and crowns us with love and compassion. He satisfies our desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalms 103:3-5, NIV). See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1a, NIV) His unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth (Psalms 103:11, NLT). Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, all the days God gives you!

Your Strength & Stronghold

And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. — Nehemiah 8:10 (AMP) Need more joy? Draw closer to our heavenly Father. In His presence is fullness of joy; At His right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). Delight yourself in the LORD, rejoicing always before Him and your strength will be continually renewed. He will be your stronghold: a fortified place that protects against attack.

Crushed & Humble?

The High and Lofty One lives forever, and his name is holy. This is what he says: I live in a high and holy place.  But I am with those who are crushed and humble. I will renew the spirit of those who are humble  and the courage of those who are crushed. Isaiah 57:15 (GW) If you are crushed and humble, know that the Lord is with you. James instructs us to humble ourselves before the Lord, and He will lift us up (James 4:10). Humility comes before honor. The Lord guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way (Psalm 25:9). He sustains the humble and crowns them with victory. Be completely humble (Ephesians 4:2) and the Lord will show you His favor (Proverbs 3:34). He will renew your spirit and strengthen the courage of those who are crushed. Amen.

Depend on the LORD

Be glad that you are his; let those who seek the Lord be happy. Depend on the Lord and his strength; always go to him for help. Psalm 105:3-4 (NCV) Be glad that you belong to the LORD and no one can take you out of His hands. As you seek God and His will, let your heart be filled with joy. Instead of trying to accomplish things in your own strength, depend on the LORD and His strength. He is your helper and nothing is too difficult for Him.

Keep in Step

Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I'm fit inside and out So I never lose sight of your love, But keep in step with you, never missing a beat. Psalm 26:2-3 (The Message) Keep in step with God. When He wants to lead you somewhere, follow Him. When He says be still, patiently wait. Never lose sight of God's unfailing love whether you are on the move or standing still. The path He chooses for us, is exactly where we ought to be. Love, Jackie
