He Refreshes & Restores

Image
He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake. — Psalms 23:3 (AMP) Yahweh leads us in the paths of righteousness. He shows us the right way to go and the right attitude and actions. Our part is to be obedient and follow Him. Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17 NASB1995) So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]; (Acts 3:...

The LORD is my Shepherd

Image
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. — Psalm 23:1-4 (NASB) No matter how dark the valley you may walk through, remember the Shepherd is with you. The Amplified Bible says: The LORD is my Shepherd to feed, to guide and to shield me… (Psalm 23:1a). I will say to the LORD, “ My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust! ” For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. (Psalm 91:2-3 NASB)

High & Holy

Image
For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” — Isaiah 57:15 (NASB) Our living God, Who is exalted above all, dwells on a high and holy place. However, He also lives with those of a humble and repentant heart. He restores the crushed spirit and revives the heart of the contrite. And what does the LORD require of us? To do what is right, to diligently practice kindness, and to walk humbly with our God. (Micah 6:8) “ … I live in the high and holy place, yet I am with the low, the weak, and the humble. I renew their vitality and revive their strength. ” — Isaiah 57:15b (VOICE)

The LORD is my Shepherd

Image
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. — Psalm 23:1-3 (NASB) When the LORD is our Shepherd, He will provide all that we need. Our heavenly Father is a good Father, He always provides for the needs of His children, and constantly takes care of us. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and He laid His life down for the sheep (John 10:11). When the storms of life come, the LORD leads us beside quiet waters. He is our inner peace, in every chaotic situation. He leads us along on the right paths, however, we must choose to follow Him. When we make the decision to follow Him, He will take us higher and deeper, and from glory to glory. He continually restores and revives our lives, day by day. God pours out new compassions and mercies upon us, each and every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23) If God is indeed the Lord of our lives, goodness a...

Drawn Close with Love

Image
The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness. — Jeremiah 31:3 (NASB) The LORD draws us to Himself with lovingkindness and His faithfulness continues throughout the generations. He clothes us with garments of salvation, and wraps us with a robe of righteousness… (Isaiah 61:10) Like a good shepherd, He tends to His flock. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. He carries us in His arms, holding us close to His heart. He gently leads us. The LORD makes us lie down in green pastures. He leads us beside quiet waters. He restores our souls. Our heavenly Father guides us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, and for the wonderful things He has done for the children of men!

The LORD is Near

Image
The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. — Psalm 23:1-3 (AMP) Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. (Psalm 23:4 NLT) No matter how dark the valley we go through, we never have to fear because the LORD is near. And the power of His perfect love casts out all fear.

He Satisfies & Strengthens

Image
The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. — Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV) The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (Psalm 23:1-3 AMP) He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength (Isaiah 40:29). Our heavenly Father is able to breathe life into dead bones (Ezekiel 37:4-10). He will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; He will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with His eye upon you. (Psalm 32:8 AMP)

He Remains Forever

Image
Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them. But you are always the same; you will live forever. — Psalm 102:25-27 (NLT) The world around us is in a constant state of change, but we can count on the stability of our God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake (Psalm 23:3 AMP). For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even until death. (Psalm 48:14 AMP)

Find Rest

Image
The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. — Psalm 23:1-3 (NLT) Realize that the LORD alone is God. He made us, and we are his. We are his people and the sheep in his care (Psalm 100:3 GW). He carries the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. (Isaiah 40:11) We can rest, knowing that as our Shepherd, the LORD provides all that we need. He is our guide to keep us on the paths of righteousness. He protects us from the enemy. As we rest in Him, He refreshes and restores our souls. In Matthew 11:29, Jesus said when we take His yoke upon ourselves and learn from Him, we would find rest for our souls. Find rest today.

He is Willing

Image
A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” — Mark 1:40-41 (NLT) The great I AM is always willing. He heals the sick, restores the broken, and gives life to that which is dead. Jesus is moved with compassion, to answer the needs of those who seek Him. Ask in faith and look expectantly to Him, our provider. He is the source of our strength, and hope. Give thanks and praise the Lord for his unfailing grace, mercy and compassion.

New Life!

Image
…God lives forever and is holy. He is high and lifted up. He says, “I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are sad and humble. I give new life to those who are humble and to those whose hearts are broken.”  — Isaiah 57:15 (NCV) Our God is exalted on high and He is also a God who dwells with His people. Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear (Isaiah 59:1 NIV). You are never out of His reach. He gives new life to those who humble themselves under His mighty hand. He restores crushed spirits and revives repentant hearts. “ I, even I, am He who comforts you… ”  Isaiah 51:12 (NKJV)

He Refreshes & Restores

Image
He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake. — Psalm 23:3 (AMP) The LORD says, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust,” (Joel 2:25 NKJV). He will restore all that the enemy has stolen. In Matthew 11:28 (AMP), Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]” Come to Jesus and be refreshed!

The Blessing of Brokenness

Image
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise. — Psalm 51:17 (NKJV) When something is broken, we tend to throw it away. However, God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9). When our lives are shattered and our spirits broken, God picks up all the broken pieces. He washes them off and puts them back together. The Master molds our spirits, and gives them a new shape. He restores purpose for every piece. He makes us whole again and strengthens our spirits. When you are battered, bruised and broken, instead of growing bitter, receive the blessing of letting God make you even better.

Perfect & Constant Peace

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. — Isaiah 26: 3 (AMP) As we keep our minds on the LORD, we will experience a continual flow of perfect peace. Let's fill our minds with thoughts of Him. Our God is mighty and strong and over all the universe. Our God, Jehovah Jireh, foresees all our needs and makes provision for us. He heals and restores us, spirit, soul and body. He delivers and saves and gives us the victory! Our God, Jehovah Shalom, is our peace. Keep your mind stayed on Him. And remember, no matter what you are going through today, this too shall pass.

The Good Shepherd

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. — Matthew 9:36 (NKJV) While observing some sheep on Friday, I gained a visual understanding of why the Word says we are like sheep. Without the shepherd, the sheep wander around aimlessly. The only time they made any progress is when the shepherd gave them direction. Just like the sheep, we need our Shepherd. Jesus is the good shepherd, who gives His life for the sheep (John 10:11). Jesus is moved with compassion to guide and protect us. He refreshes and restores our souls and leads us on the right paths. Instead of wandering through life aimlessly, always follow the Good Shepherd, no matter where He may lead.
