Meditate & Obey

Image
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. — Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) In order to have good success we need to meditate in the Word of God and obey what is written in it. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit (See Ephesians 6:17), our weapon against the enemy. In order to use it effectively, let us meditate in it, treasure it in our hearts, that we may not sin against Yahweh. (See Psalms 119:11) Joshua instructed the Israelites: “So be very careful to follow everything Moses wrote in the Book of Instruction. Do not deviate from it, turning either to the right or to the left. Rather, cling tightly to the LORD your God as you have done until now.” (Joshua 23:6, 8 NLT) Let us not deviate from the Holy Scriptures, nor the will of God. No compromise with the world or the devil. Cling to Yahw...

Prosper & Succeed

Image
“Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.” — 3 John 1:2 (TPT)  May you succeed and prosper in all areas of your life, physically, spiritually, in all of your relationships, in your career, ministry, etc. Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) tells us how: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalms 1:2-3 NKJV)

Good Success

Image
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD,  and in His law he meditates day and night. — Psalm 1:1-2 (NKJV) When we meditate on the Word of God, our thoughts are elevated from our ways to His way and we can see things from His, much higher perspective. Let His Word permeate your mind and hide it in your heart, and you will be blessed and have good success, when you follow it. Joshua 1:8 says: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (NKJV) How well God must like you— you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon, you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College. Instead you thrill to God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and ni...

Give Attention

Image
He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. — Proverbs 16:20 (NASB) For good success in life, let us give attention to the Word of God, in what we believe, what we speak, and what we do. His word revives us and gives us life. It is our comfort in affliction (Psalm 119:50)  Rejoice at His word as one who finds great treasure. (Psalm 119:162) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you  shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. ( Joshua 1:8  NKJV )

Know Truth

Image
“ And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ” — John 8:32 (NKJV) The truth will make you free, however, you have to know the truth before it can set you free. We grow in our knowledge of truth as we meditate in the Word of God, day and night. Joshua 1:8 says, this Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Buy the truth, and do not sell it, (Proverbs 23:23). Treasure His Word in your heart. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. (Psalm 100:5  NKJV)

Matters of the Mind

Image
…casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, — 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV) Where your mind goes, you follow. If you entertain anxious thoughts, then you will be tense and full of anxiety. If you keep your mind stayed on the LORD, He will keep you in perfect peace. (Isaiah 26:3). When our thoughts do not line up with the Word of God, we need to cast them down and bring them into alignment with the Word. Let us refuse to conform to the pattern of this world, and be transformed by renewing our minds with God’s Word. (Romans 12:2 NIV). Joshua 1:8 says, this Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on...

Our Greatest Need

Image
When You said, “Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need],” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I will seek...” — Psalm 27:8 (AMP) The Presence of the LORD is our greatest need. With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). In Philippians 4:13 the Message Bible states: “Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” For good success and victory in this life, His presence is a vital necessity. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 AMP) Jeremiah 29:13-14 (MSG) says, “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” We will not be disappointed when we desire God’s presence in our lives, more than anything else. And Jesus promises,  “ …and lo, I am ...

Take the Next Step

Image
By faith, Noah built a ship in the middle of dry land. He was warned about something he couldn’t see, and acted on what he was told. The result? His family was saved. His act of faith drew a sharp line between the evil of the unbelieving world and the rightness of the believing world. As a result, Noah became intimate with God. — Hebrews 11:7 (MSG) The Bible doesn’t say that Noah questioned God. He didn't inquire about the what, why, and when. It doesn’t say that Noah had to think about a convenient time to undertake the massive project God gave to him. He just acted in faith and obedience and as a result many lives were saved. God’s Word is the instruction manual for our lives. When we do as He directs us, it will mean salvation not only for us but for others. Acting in faith and obedience sets us free from the bondage of the enemy and gives us good success in life. The task God has given to you may seem to big of an undertaking, but if you just focus on the next step, God w...

More Than Enough

Image
Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. — John 21:3-6 (NKJV) The disciples went fishing and that night they caught nothing. But in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore. Even though they had been fishing all night, when Jesus told them to cast their net, they followed His instruction. As a result, their net was so full, they had to drag it. John 21:11 says, it was full of large fish, not tiny, skimpy ones. We may feel like we have been toiling all night and catching nothing, not seeing the results we hoped for. However, when we continually follow Jesus and listen to His directions, He will lead us to more than enough and good success. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy (causing lack and scarcity), but Jesus came that we may have and enjoy lif...

What’s Best

Image
This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” — Isaiah 48:17 (NIV) Our heavenly Father created us and knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). Most of us would sell ourselves short, but God knows whats best for us. And He reveals it to us, as we faithfully follow Him, step by step. All the days ordained for us were written in His book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16). So He already has our journey mapped out. Trust God to guide you along on the path of life, to good success and victory.

Good Success

Image
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. — Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) Good success is success gained God’s way. As we do God’s will by following His ways and thinking as He thinks, then we will obtain good success and we will make our way prosperous and fruitful. The only way to follow His ways is to become intimately acquainted with His Word, by meditating on it day and night and treasuring it in your heart. May you experience good success: a life fulfilled!

Have Hope!

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. — Romans 15:4 (NKJV) The Scriptures, even though inscribed long ago, were written for us. They were written to give us hope and encouragement. In the Word, we can see the faithfulness of God. We see that even though God’s people endured and persevered through all kinds of difficult situations, God faithfully brought them through and gave them double for their troubles, many times over. Let us heed the words of Joshua 1:8 and never let the Book depart from our mouths, and consistently meditate in it day and night, so that we may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Then we will make our way prosperous, and then we will have good success and a living hope.

A Call to Action!

Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” — John 2:4-5 (NKJV) Many times, I have wished that I listened to my mother. Sometimes it's the mom's who speak the simple truths. The words Mary, the mother of Jesus, spoke to the servants are words that transcend the ages. They are timeless words of wisdom. If we just do whatever Jesus tells us to do, we can be assured that we will have favor and good success in our lives. No more excuses, it is a call to action. DO whatever He says to you. Then you will be able to speak the words of John 17:4, “I have glorified You down here on the earth by completing the work that You gave Me to do.”

His Ways are Higher!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”  — Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 14:12). Let us not think that we have figured out a better way to do life than our heavenly Father. God's way is tested and true and He only wants the best for you. Let us submit to His ways and align our thoughts with His thoughts. They lead to abundant life and good success.

Are You Attentive?

Then he read from it in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law. — Nehemiah 8:3 (NKJV) Do you give attention to the Word of God? For the Word of God is living and powerful, (Hebrews 4:12). God has magnified His word above all His name (Psalm 138:2). Joshua 1:8 tells us to always have the Word on our lips and to meditate in it day and night, to do according to all that is written in it. Then we will make our way prosperous, and have good success. Amen!
